I don't ... think this is an ascended bug ... it affects both? It's why I tossed here, if you folks of the mod comittee think me wrong, just move my thread, please and thanks.

I know this is a well known bug, well, I think it is. Right.

If my name on main, doesn't match my name on ascended, and someone has my main name on ascended?

IE Main: Ryan, Ascended: Joe ( This is me! Not real names, of course. )

Main: Billy Joe Bob, Ascended: HellFire.

Now. I want to take my old name back. HellFire, but SOMEONE has it in ascended. If I take it back in main ... am I no longer able to ascend?

If I make no sense, just ... tell me that. Just got out of a Calculus test, and I'm sure I don't know left from right.

considering ascended doesnt even have a rule book/FAQ yet.

Ive also wondered about this but in reverse

i changed my ascended name so if i ascend again will it make a new account or will it transfer the stuff to my changed name account

This one I know! I've got a different ascended account ID then my main account, you're fine. My name on main is A, my name on ascended is B, even if someone has A on ascended, the resources I get from ascending go to B.

I could quite possibly be very wrong here.

I'd imagine the connection between your main account and ascended account would probably be based on the user ID numbers rather than the names. At least when it comes to all the behind the scenes I.T. complicated tech stuff.

Weeeeeelll, you'd think that, but I've run into this problem before the last time I was ascending, and I mean, if I'm going to be doing more ascensions this time, it's going to take longer, and. I miss my name. </3

I dont get the issue though LOL,

Player A ID:99999
Main name1
Ascended name2

Player B ID:11111
Main name2
Ascended name1

The only problem i could really see here would be if you were unascended, so like

Player A
Main name1

Player B
Main name2
Ascended name1

Then i could see that being an issue, as the ascended account would take your name from main, but as its taken it i suppose error out, a simple fix to this would be for admin to make it that, your name in main = your name in ascended, if you name change in main, it auto changes in ascended.

If i completely missed the point to what you where asking, i apologize.

I don't think someone changing their name in main changes their name in ascended, unless that's a new thing I'm oblivious to? That's the main way anyone has any anonymity up there. Personally, I've got a different name in ascended as I do main. Someone, however, has HellFire as their name in ascended, who definately isn't me or my old account. =P Which is why I was hoping to know, if I took HellFire as my name in main, would I have troubles ascending?

Only if you are unascended, else it should only link via ID, i did my first few ascensions with a completely different name in ascended ( excluding my first ascension )

Sure, but did someone have GeneralChaos ( Or rather your main name at the time ) as their ascended for those consecutive ascensions?

Just a trick... use ~ or something like that in your name. For example:
~HellFire~

I think you only have 2 options, try ascending any see if it goes to your account or go to an admin meet and ask Jason.

Basically what I resigned myself to, Duderanch. I just changed my name, if no love comes from it, time to heckle Jason. Thank you for everyone's replies! I'll try to update in the end with what the resolution was.

I thought your name was SlimShady

You cannot ascend with your main name being the same as someone elses ascended name it does not allow it because "This user already exists in the rankings" i had this happen to me a while back and I had to use one of my name changes which is really the only fix


and yes it will go to the same account because it is linked to your main account and so the same way as when being descended takes away ascending again gives back
