I dont know if im imagining it. But does anyone else here scroll through general, and just not find a single topic that seems worth reading to them? Much like this one, i personally wouldnt respond to this one, but im posting it anyway.

Im gonna go ahead and assume im gonna get all no's. Cause those who would say yes wouldnt open this thread

The hell are you talking about? General starting to get boring? IT'S ALWAYS BEEN BORING!

Ever since I started posting on these forums, I really haven't seen much that would be interesting in General. Which is why I often visit the GC and spam temple.

Its a real shame, cos general used to be the forum hub and centre of activity, with some of the greatest posts ever being made there, now most people tend to be drawn towards the GC, to be horrible to each other, or the MISC section. I think because the game got a little boring with the war (what with half the people who post on this forum being in that war...) then general too got boring. I really think theres still some things to disscuss, but i cant for the life of me imagine what, i mean we could go on about the cost effectiveness of attack planets vs super soldiers etc but... thats boring too. EtL's thread generated a bit of interest.

Depends to be honest. Sometimes interesting, sometimes not.

It`s very likely an indication of the state of the game/forum in general.

For one, roleplay is practically dead. It`s no longer particulary friendy/appealing to newcomers (both to take up SGW and even more-so take it up publically. Not that it has has ever been the latter, come to think of it lol...)

Theres a big war going on and it leaves people trigger happy, so smart folks steer clear in the first place, undue attention ftl of def. And that war got "a tad" personal for some, and people notice it, and are discouraged from even coming near. Who needs the drama lol. Loads of people also left, for various reasons. Some not necesarily the game, just this forum.

Then you have your forum managment, who I cannot pass by without mentioning, since, the cooks are again the first ones to cringe at the taste of the stue and look to the heavens for answers.
If mods and admins werent preocupied with the backroom power tugs-of-war 75% of the time (what, you think ppl dont notice lol?), and actually got their act together (and I mean really together, looking at a mirror for starters for instance, and not just huffing and puffing and asking for respect), some people (yours included) might pop in more than once per week, maybe even with something constructive and not just to jerk some chains. As it stands, I won`t even miss this place whan Joke plants me that 9th one that will keep admins buisy for another fourthnigt to decide weather or not water is wet, curtesy of grander "policies" and that akward composition. Annoying tags and quorums eh. Bane of this forum, since like, forever. But I hear there`s progress being made in that field, al-Gaddafi style.

All in all... Honestly, at this stage, what can you expect lol. Imo it`s pritty decent, all things considered. Again, much as SGW itself, doing suprisingly decently, given everyting considered hehe.

The only real reason people dislike reading this forum is because some people cannot keep their mouths shut and purposely like to troll others into arguing.

If they're filled to the brim with either interesting things to read about or stuff that actually makes sense (hats off to Semper for both of those), I'll gladly read those "too long posts" before worthless rot that appears all too often.

Indeed, whenever a post of any value does pop up, "Thats too much" or "OMG too long" .

Hell, severian, whos posts where mind blowingly amazeing, got bullied off the forum for being far too interesting. Thats a shame.

As for what Brdvs says, I dont really understand it entirely, but i assume it has something to do with the recent petition that came about trying to expell people etc...

If people acted a little more chilled out, And everyone was polite, we'd live in a wonderful world, unfortunatly we dont...

Peoples attitudes are poor accross the whole spectrum, not only that Real world issues, such as the global recession, will no doubt have an effect on peoples moods, and time to be interested in the game.

Above it all, as always, its the unreliable politicians, Fat Cat buisinessmen, And Big time Criminals who win, everyone else is just kidding themselves.

Yup, ive just explained that SGW's general isnt as exciteing as it used to be encorperateing things that dont happen on the Pixelated screen of a PC...

Not only this, but back to the real sgws world, is every time a change is made (in attempt to further the betternerness of the forum or game) it tends to be received badly, or wrongly, then weeks or months, even years later, people suggest the same thing, or decide that it was a good idea in the first place.

Admin-ing this forum, Is like trying to push a hungry lion, Up a hill, with lambs who have broken legs sitting at the bottom of said hill, and yourself covered in Gravey, while the lion itself has not eaten in a month, and has also taken a great dislike to you as a person.

I think the forums as a whole have become less interesting, and it's not been localised to SGW general.

Ultimately though, everything has its high and low's. With the game itself being in the state it is.. it was only inevitable the forums would suffer too...

and phil, being silent is being boring.
