for the price i agree it is a nice setup. but a P4 age core on a 945 based chipset..... 15" LCD..... and ram..... DDR 400? wow...... *amused*

it sounds like someones selling a video card...... and throwing in the rest for free. (i have a Gigabyte/NVidia 9600GT with the Zalman cooler so.... yha.... crysis on high? yups.)

hey im saying for the price its good.

im just a little of an elitist because across about 3 years ive scraped money together and built a system that trumps the vast majority of others despite a tiny, near nonexistant budget.... for example, at a friends LAN party its usually up to me to host the servers for the games because of how much ram and the CPU i have..... so i can run the game and a server at the same time.... (i accidentally had crysis running in the background while playing Rainbow Six Vegas.... and lol it ran fine....)

mind you my primary system is an Asus motherboard, crossfire capable, im using a 3.4ghz dual core 64 bit CPU, 4gb of ram (DDR400 only runs at 200mhz or so im lead to beleive, mine runs at 800mhz in dual channell....) a 160gb and a 500gb SATAII hdd, aswell as 1 80gb and 1 120gb USB drive.... graphics card is about the same (tbh that graphics card is nice, probably the bulk of the price of that system of yours).... a 19" widescreen LCD monitor.....

and for gaming, in my opinion Corded desktops (keys and mouse) are better...... there are so many devices for gaming that are cordless that the battery runs out pretty quick so theres always the chance that a battery will go in the middle of a game.... i dont know how many times my old wireless mouse died on me right in a LAN game..... and i dont go to many LANs..... and nowadays the cords for mice in particular are a lot thinner than they used to be, so while there is a cord, its less obvious and doesnt interfere with gaming for me, especially with my Razer Deathadder mouse.... <3

TLDR: i agree its a good system you got for the price, i just returned home from a night out when i wrote that so i was a little shall i say..... out of it. if there was any undertone to the post, i didnt mean it lol.... sometimes my logic can go a little odd when im tired.

oh okay, what do you think of my motherboard. My friend told me it was good and would last me a few years since it was very expandable...

well can you get me a specific model number/code? from the sounds of it, it sounds ok, but beyond having a PCI-E 2.0 slot and being an Asrock 945 based board i cant say much.

the 945 chipset will be able to take some of the early generation Core2 Duo processors but not much more than that. it can though use Pentium D processors, (i used to use a 945 board with a Pentium D core, ok combination) which will if youre willing to spend cash later on will provide a performance boost.

but its not all that necessary if youre playing older games and using the internet. not to mention the Pentium D and most things before it will soon be/are now obsolete.

so if you need to get an early C2D then yes, its fine. but i need to know more on the board to know anything more about ram or other things like how many PCI (not PCI-E) slots it has for things like Wireless Network cards if its not built in, or any other expansion cards (video tuner/capture, raid array controller cards, etc.)

ok well for the uses you specified its ok then, you wont need to expand. only real thing you'll have to look out for is if you want to buy more RAM, that you wont be able to get anything that runs over 667 mhz.

quality wise, ive heard nothing bad of Asrock brand motherboards so youre fine again :P
