Why can other people name their planets on Main like this:

and most of us can't get any of these characters to show up, like it or not?

I understand the rules were made to prevent masking,
(not that they work...)
but I don't even get a choice on breaking the character rules,

and these are mostly those culled from less than 2 pages worth of seemingly random people -- my recon list!

plus a bunch of related commanders and officers whose stats profile page I looked at out of boredom... but not more than 3 pages of people I looked at... so it's pretty common.


Note, many of these people are my friends, and I don't want to see them get in trouble...

I want to know how to do the same thing they are...
without getting myself in trouble...

If I thought I could avoid crossing Jason
by simply asking my friends how they do it, I would...

but I'm not that lucky!

I'd get busted for sure.

How come I still see people on vacation mode and PPT in Main, at the same time?
I thought there used to be an explanation, but I can't remember it for the life of me.

I think the most recent case I saw was my friend temptress.

I've been wondering the same thing about both problems. It'll be interesting to see Jason's reaction IF he ever sees this.

Jason most likely will not respond and prolly not ever see this.

First off, any planet name with an illegal character is fine until its name gets changed. He would had to have went through every account by hand to change the names after the new naming rule went into effect. Thats the explination I was given. Its the same for nameing all your planets identicaly.


As for PPT and vacation mode,I dont know.

so what I need to do is find planets made a couple of years ago... that say what I want them to say, and then steal them...

Well it is an exploit used very recently actually. Someone took a planet with a certain character in it which causes you to not be able to be spied. Was a big stink on forums about it.

my first account... I didn't want to start another MMORPG...


one of my friends got me interested by giving me one of his little bitty multi accounts at the time... (it barely had a mothership, as I recall...)

even his main account was small... a few million army size, maybe...


Our mutual best friend spent the next week reminding me what an angel I am,
and that even though I didn't care about SGW yet,
I still shouldn't cheat...


My best friend was right, and I deleted "my" account as soon as I realized I was asking for trouble by sticking with a multi account...

I created a clean account, and started fresh.

I've been squeaky clean ever since...

Then we tag-teamed the other guy on cheating until he went totally clean and created a fresh clean account as well.

(I'm sorry, Jason, honest. )

Can't speak about strange Chars. in planet names.

As for Vacation + PPT at same time...Perhaps it was at a time where there was a server problem or crashed, and Admin gave out Free PPT's across the server for a limited duration??? Had one of these happen just a few days ago, as it was...

Never noticed if those on Vacation Mode also get thosee Admin. given PPT's when they happen or not, just guessing as a possibility. (Will have to take a look next time it happens and find out).

That would be my guess as well. When global PPT is given for whatever reason I am sure the Vacationed accounts get it as well, and since they are on vacation... it never runs out, until they come off, and BOO, you have PPT.

Oh yes, those times. Annoy the crap out of everyone by PPTing for 4 days, and being on vac mode for 3 days.

Ok. ( I hope I am answering the right question )

After you set vacation mode, your name would appear like this is someone searched your id :

For the first 48 hours. This shows people you have vacationed within the last two days, and is also the period you cannot log back in. While the 'ppt message' is there, the account holder CANNOT log back in.

After two days, the ' PPT message ' disappears, to leave the original :

When Global PPT happens, Everyone, including those on vac mode, seem to recieve it.

The problems with this are twofold :

.1. Those wanting to go on vac mode that day ( say going on holiday IRL) cannot, because they have ppt'd in the last 24 hours.

.2. Those wanting to come off vac mode, cannot, because their 'vacation ppt' is still active.

Luckily, the PPT message on vacationed accounts does co-inicide with the time on main. Say +8 hours. I think I remember Clarkey hitting this a few months back after a vacation, and having to wait out the additional 8-12 hours while the effects wore off (56 hour minimum vac instead of 48).

Okay well I have gone of Vacation mode, then come off with PPT. How can that be explained?
