What/Who brought your attention to join this game (and forums) the first time?

For my case, an ad on amazon.com about a stargate mmorpg brought me there (didn't have any clue what an mmorpg was, took a week or two before joining as I had no clue, joined three weeks after release of game).

I was searching the internet, Looking for a stargatewars game.

I ewas exciteing when i found this one, Although it wasnt what i wanted. I did know was an MMO was, as i'd played the terminator one, this one far excelled that, Even in its youth.

I was really looking for a FPS though....

My son in law, know as Lord Voldemort, brought me to this game. He played with a group of friends at the uni he was going to.

was looking for the Star Wars episode III trailer or other news, but instead ended up looking for news on the new SG-1 episodes (back in 2005), and this came up in the search engines. Start playing on and off over several months then got into it over the summer and the rest is history..

about the same as buck, though I was looking for an mmorpg or shooter.

my cousins old boyfriend (followmeidiealot) was playing it one day and i thought it looked like it would be a good time waster so joined.

I think someone had their recruitment link in a sig on Gateworld forums....clicked it, got freaked out that I'd joined some army or other, and didn't go near it for a month or so. Then someone else had a similar-looking link in their sig on the GW forums, clicked it, and this time I was determined to find what armies I was joining....so registered and looked around

A few of my early officers joined that way too. Maybe I should go back on gateworld and throw my link around there some more...

My friend showed me it one time like 3 years ago. o.o

Saw a ad for it while trying to get info on new Statgate movies and the new series coming out soon, Stargate Universe.

Was round a friends house and he was playing it, watched him for a little while and he said i should play but didn't see much point as it looked boring, held off for 3 months before i got talked into it started an account and really enjoyed it, Damn you ~Massey~

I was actually just looking for a game to play nothing in particular and somehow ended up looking up Stargate then somehow found this and it confused me at first because I joined someones army I got kicked real quick and didnt come back for a couple months

I been here to damn long to remember think it was my bestfriend that doesn't play anymore.
