I've been hearing something about a Super Weapon Auction? Have looked through every part of the Ascended server and can find nothing pertaining to a so called Super Weapon? Do you have to have Supporter Status to access it or am I just blind and missing it?

it was a doomed update from the start, and good ridance to it as well

yup it was a doomed update. Vast majority loved it, 1 alliance hated it and 1 person kept stamping his feet complaining until it the noise in our ears was unbearable. Sad truth was that he was (in part) right. The concept was good, but it would never, never, ever work how it was intended.

But some of the best fun I've ever had on this server was chasing down the dmu per hit in that mad farming spree once a week.

See top left corner of your page there is a "game updates" line. Click it and read how every update was introduced, fiddled with and then smacked around till we get to our current warped state.

You mean you loved the second or third attempt at it right? Because you surely didnt like the state it was in when introduced. LOL

There was no "Free ride" when it was concieved.

I wasn't around when it was introduced, I first turned up on ascended in Feb 07 when half the dmu got distributed to the server. And I know the majority did love the farm fest. But yes I remember the stories of what went on when it first came out.

I do believe admin tried to make the best of a bad situation. And for the record I would like to point out that the top 3 were never forced to bid 3trill a week on it. They were so far in front that they could have put up a token bid of 50 bill and still kept it in DD/Omega hands. Nobody else was within cooee with at one stage over 70% of the top 100 being CoP related.

For many, including myself, the farm fest was one opportunity to have a bit of fun before we went back to being oppressed with having our million planet accounts reset on random occasions.

But that's in the past and the game's moved on since then. Whatever our feelings towards that SuperWeapon I doubt there's a need to debate the merits of it now.

I'll agree with the last bit, because I sure don't agree with other parts of it.

Only good thing about the ASW is its the only update completely removed LOL
