Meaning Of Life Stuff...

Not sure where exactly to post this topic however i'll get to my point
I have always questioned how exactly humans were created;
- Through science
OR
- God
I am interested in your opinions on whether you have a strong belief that god created us and that we all have a specific purpose as to why we are alive
OR
whether you think that us being alive today was all just coincidence through science i.e. the big bang theory for example what is the chance that everything was exactly right for the big bang to work.
I'd like to hear some opinions from people about this subject?

ok you guys shouldnt be in here this is for intelligent discussion area so serveing jack is not intelligent is it now and it not the meaning to life.
What is the meaning of life and why are we here? That's a question that has been asked for many years. The meaning of life is deeply mixed with the philosophical and religious conceptions of existence, consciousness, and happiness, and touches on many other issues, such as symbolic meaning, ontology, value, purpose, ethics, good and evil, free will, conceptions of God, the existence of God, the soul and the afterlife. Scientific contributions are more indirect; by describing the empirical facts about the universe, science provides some context and sets parameters for conversations on related topics. An alternative, human-centric, and not a cosmic/religious approach is the question "What is the meaning of my life?" The value of the question pertaining to the purpose of life may be considered to be coincidal with the achievement of ultimate reality, if that is believed by one to exist.

Two points I have in mind:
-We are older than 5-6k years old (cavemen, Lucy, etc...). Thus making 7 days creation theory now obsolete.
-But, whatever/whoever caused creation of [the] Universe is I think, bit more complicated than big bang theory...whom would be refered as "God".

Too easy, my friend.

Humans have no actual meaning of life.
Death has so much more meaning.
But I digress.

I was searching for answers to this question and i reached the same conclusion.
What is life raported to this tiny planet put in the context of the entire Universe?... a grain of dust in the wind. When the wind will blow us away from this corner, do you think that someone would remember us?
If ever a unicelular organism will find the meaning of life, will that save him from being consumed by the next superior organism?... or if we find the meaning of life, will that save us from disapearing?
The Universe is fading away if we go by the theory of the initial explosion same like the waves started from a drop of water are fading away on a calm surface of a lake. When the Universe will cease to exist, what? Totally blackout? If yes, then what is the life?

(there is no life, there is only death and the only meaning of life is to blend the death visible)
I think that our life (existence) is simple and has one purpose: to die and be consumed by the microorganisms and close the full circle. Does anyone really think that if we build empires, spaceships, etc, there will be something left when the circle of life will be closed, when there will be the time for it to return into the unknown?
On a religious note, Jack is right. Indeed raport your life to something and you will find the meaning of your life in that something.
Raport your life to God an entity that no one has ever seen and yes the meaning of your life will be God.
Raport your life to making money and the meaning of your life will be to make money.
In the end, none of these will matter.
And in the conclusion: i`ve burned my brain to write these lines in the last several minutes. Some of the forum users will read and what i wrote might mean something to them, others (most) will not even be ware of this post. When and if this forum will cease to exist, so will be my post. Will it remain something behind from this post? Nothing... or maybe just a thought in someones mind. (holy **Filtered**, this was deep lol)

There is no greater meaning to life. It just is... the meaning of your life is sourced from your parents and..eventually yourself and the people around you. I like to believe in the poetic notion.. you make your own meaning.

FYI, "Lucy"'s bones were found 200 feet away from each other- and that's one bone 200 feet deeper than the other, not 200 feet lengthwise.
The 7 days creation theory has not yet been disproven.

I somewhat agree.
<myBeliefs>God created all of us to live here and to serve Him, yet give us free will to decide whether or not to do so (Adam & Eve sinned, thereby introducing another set of choices for us to choose from.). With that free will, you choose what you will be, "making your own meaning". </myBeliefs>

i am a fairly firm believe in science how ever i don't complete ignore religious belief, for god to create the universe he must be almost infinite himself or bigger than the universe, i find that a little hard to believe, but then believing something as complex as the big bang theory is just as crazy, as something so complicated, can't just happen by chance which is what scientists have been discussing. i dont believe there is an answer to this question well not yet anyway, if time travel is possible then i am sure scientists will be eager to go back in time and find out for them selves however dangerous that may be, speculating how old the universe is, is almost impossible as well.

That is reverse scientific method.
You should be looking to prove your theory, instead of 'disprove' it. The fact that you cannot disprove it doesn't make your theory true, it merely shows your lack of observative skills.

By your logic prove that the 7 days of creation is disprove. Actually, prove that we did come from monkeys. Also prove we are a just a product of chance. Prove that the world as we known isn't designed by God.
