Sending MS to Alliance Members

Ok, don't know if this has been suggested but I saw it on another game and thought it was a very good idea. In that game any Alliance member or Commander could send their MS to another Alliance members realm or Officers realm as added protection. You'd get a message in PM that goes something like this. "Such and Such has sent their ship to help protect you." You can have several MS protecting one member. Or in the case of CO to Officer, 2 ships. You can't do anything with the ship except dismiss it.

I think this would make an excellent addition to SGW.

bad. sorry to be a killjoy.

Person A is on PPT. Person A sends their MS to "protect" Person B.

Person B gets attacked & Person A is therefore using their MS to attack another whilst on PPT, violating the fundamental restriction of PPT.

That needs to be fixed first & foremost.

That's easy enough. The only thing can be done while on PPT in other game is Planet Search just like SGW. As you said Protecting another with your MS is considered "hostile" action just like spying. And if the person sent their MS out as protection BEFORE they went on PPT, have it recalled automatically the instant the PPT takes affect.

I could go either way with this idea.

I'm not really for it or against it.

Lets be honest, if your offline, it doesnt matter if you have 10 MS they will all die.

few points that need consideration, one covered above

1. PPT, for sender and reciever
2. Vacation mode for both
3. How many MS can 1 account "recieve"
4, penalties incurred, "after returning home it takes 2 hrs to refuel, etc etc"
5. The "reciever" can not control/repair/build etc etc etc on the loaned MS correct?
6. the reciever can not attack with the loaned MS can they?

and not to mention how many people can abuse this when massing Eg .your MS isn't as powerful as theirs they can just send their MS away and the cost is less.

The possibilities are limitless.

But i Love the Idea. :smt023

ah yes, good point.

the five largest MS could all hang out on 1 account for protection. even if its just 2, the combined forces of 2 top ten MS may be hard to over come.

also, can a account who has recieved a MS go and attack others trying to lure them into a counterstrike? that would be a nasty suprise.

lol that would be a very Nasty surprise

but it needs more thought.

off topic but i really wish this game gets a little more graphic rather than numbers on a page.like some animation of Ships fighting or Army's attacking each other(just a thought)it would get more people interested in the game.

Oh and this game needs to be more advertised because i only found this game after i finished watching season 10 of SG-1 (that was when i Googled SG Game and i found SGW and i registered and got addicted)

and lore remember that pm i sent you about people paying for stuff via MSG's have you gotten a reply yet?

Would you like to program the animations and graphics?
I'm sure admins would put it in if someone did the programming.

animation slows down the server. 90% of players do not want animation. Think about those who are still on dial up. Also, even if animations were put in then how long till people wanted new ones? different ones? race specific ones? custom ones? where would it stop?

@ dermetry, no not yet, work has kept me from the admin meet.

Yeah think about people like me, 99% of the internet doesn't

As for the topic at hand, I think it's a great idea that would really benefit the game, if regulations were also suggested 8)

Oh and Black hole.I wouldn't haven't a clue where to start if i tried to program something.

But this could mean strategy could be needed by people :o
What are the poor massers gonna do with themselves if they need strategy and not just spare time and AT to use
