I was just curious how widespread this process was - you fight against an alliance in a war, and end up joining the very same alliance down the line.

I originally joined COAA after being in a sabbing war with them many years ago.....I know some alliances recruit heavily from alliances they've fought.....and its still an on-going process, ie Bebita in DDE, Borek in Omega after the TO/FUALL war.....

So I was just wondering, who has joined an alliance they were once at war with? Did you do so straight after the war? And why?

those i know off:

caprilla (dawn-->mayhem : server war)
kojak (EPA -->delta : server war)
rocky (EPA -->delta : server war)
anima (forgot alliance... --> delta: side war server war)
dresnov (forgot alliance... --> delta: side war server war)
joe teamaker (can't remember alliance... --> delta: before server war, lone wolf war)

and that's just what i can remember @ this point

Guys, I think this is about if YOU did it, and why, not to make a list of those who did, Magni can correct me if I am wrong.

As for my experiances with it, I have often been approached by enemies who talk about how they admire the quick responses, hard hits, and commitment to attacks around the clock. The "family" appearance, and the fact we would MSN with them as we massed them. Most said the same thing, "Thats what I want, to be part of a group like that"

I was a SGWs rebel for a very long time, then joined omega...

No idea why i did that actually

I was against CoP then I ended up joining Pi at the recommendation of my CO at the time then RL kinda caught up with me so I had to leave the game when I came back DoC extended its hand to me in the form of enticing cookies and other things.....

i myself havent joined an alliance that i have wared...
although i have recruited people from a war i have wared...of course only the best lol...I did this because i knew they could fight and show much talent.

I've ticked off an entire alliance before (forgot witch one) and they practically massed me.

But how ever, I've never joined an alliance before, I think I've joined only once, again forgot witch one cause it was long time ago, but they kicked me out cause I didn't post on their forum, but the stupid thing is that I couldn't post on there for some reason. So of course I ask for help why I couldn't post, but nobody help, and eventually they threw me out cause I didn't post. Since then I never joined an alliance ever and ever again.

I don't think freespirit is a very good example, as he has switched sides more times than I have walked in and out of my front door. iirc his histroy was TA to Alpha, Alpha to Foundation, then to DDE, then to TA, then TLE, then mH.

There are a few TA members who joined from alliances we have been at war with, that is not how the majority of our members were recruited.

hi mags, just wanna add some more info about bebeand borek joining DDE and OE

Borek is ETLs friend long time, he said it many times, if he wouldnt join CoTO he joined Omega.

Bebita joined DDE to fight Blahh and Zesh.

Idk why other ppl join enemy alliances, but SGW comunity is like "fight against me and be my friend" but "if you dont fight be my ..." and theres stil this "play of honor, who is better".

About me, i was in A.L.D.I alliance years ago and fought mH. its true they invited me and few others to join them, but we joined TO and met great friends.

I did indeed join mH after being in a war with them, technically twice Eob vs mH, then the larger server war, where I was in TLD. It wasn't immediate, there was a week or so gap of being lone wolf in between. And yes, it was a hard choice, as it put me back in the server war, on the opposing side to which I had fought for ~ 8 months.

It was, especially at the start, a mindwarp Changing the perceptions you have built up of people whilst warring them.

I guess what it depends on mostly, is how you get on with people ingame, friends and enemies alike. It is easy to reply with jokes and quips to farming, massing or planet taking etc. .and build relationships and good times. .rather than the name calling, bickering and yelling which is so much a part of community these times.

A large portion of people I think, play for the good times with their friends. Why shouldn't you be in an alliance with those you've built those relationships with, previous war or not

Was in DD (COP) in the first server war then joined TL.

reason was simply I had alot of good friends in TL and i knew i would fit in better over there.
