So much for a trilogy..

Oh.. if this keeps up.. long live the .. erm, is there a new enemy, or is this the Devil we know?

Reach fell to the Covenant just prior to the events of Halo: CE. Hell, Halo: CE is basically the retreat from Reach.
Right.

I knew that.
I really did.
Just forgot.. like so many things these days..

@ SS: I haven't played Halo Wars. To be honest, I already own RT strategy games like it, and didn't see the point.
@ All: Awesome. The backstory to Halo, from what I have picked up from the trilogy of games is rich. I hope that they don't screw it up.

Halo Wars... Let me sum up my opinion on the matter in a few words.
Cutscenes: Amazing
Gameplay: Pathetic
Nice waste of 80 bucks, I should have just watched the storyline of the game on youtube rofl.
*Goes back to playing CIV4*

Yup.. should be.. though why one of those things survived all the ruckus is beyond me while everyone of his kind is either slaughtered or mothballed.

Ahh yes! The orbital bombardments.
Hm. That was one heck of a strategical attack.
Seeing as how that one Spartan manages to thwart the Covenant at almost every other thing they try..
..
Basically.
So erm.. Halo: Reach is about the Fall of Reach? Can't that end just one way? Like, with the planet being glassed? Or are they pulling out timetravel and alternate timelines and playing the old Star Trek screw-you card?

Thanks Jack!

Jack wrote:And not every game needs to end with you winning, TBH, I'm, kinda of sick of winning every last battle and war. It's time that we lose some.
Quite true. Just that most games are still about winning.. hence my curiosity.
Especially if some losses are good or important for storylines.

how silly...such valuable assets in the same place ready to get buggered all at once.

Due to the unicity of the 'factory', I suppose it is logical that all their troops/prototypes are there..

shows how silly it was when they all got, as Jack put it "Glassed"
ah well apparently you only need one to beat the covenant anyways

Yes.. one suffices. That's the leitmotif of the Halo Trilogy.
Except that 'glassed' is the actual term, since the planet's surface was melted by orbital bombardments.
