That'll be another movie ruined by a remake. Just leave the classics alone and come up an original script.

The original is one of my favorites, not just because of the story and action (which are excellent). I don't think a remake can recapture the climate the original was released into: the Cold War under President Reagan. That was the patriotic icing for the cake, so to speak. The motive for the antagonists seems a weak, in my opinion, and nothing like the Communist monolith in the original. This looks like a "direct to DVD" release to me.

What a horrible day for Survivalists across the globe!!!
Why remake something that is already awesome!
Have people ran out of ideas? Everything is getting remade these days, Or sequeled.

They are going to ruin this movie. The original was brilliant in tapping into the paranoia of Reagan Era Cold War. The new one is not going to be able to capture the same feeling as the old one did. I think it is doomed for failure.

I agree 110%. Being a 23 year career soldier, I started my career in the Army training to fight that Red Dawn scenerio. Now it might do alright in the box office, but won't capture the same awe and fear the first one induced. Best to leave this one alone. Unless they totally destroy it and have Islamic Terrorists instead of Communist soldiers.

The opening scene scared the piss out of me as a little kid growing up. That was brilliant filmmaking. One thing about the movie I always loved, and a reason I watch it every time it is on, is it is really focuses on collaborators. Who will work for the enemy to save their own hide? How is the new movie going to reflect that?

I was born just as the Soviet empire collapsed, so I never experienced the movie the same way y'all did.
