Yep. I especially like how he manages to have a central theme to some of his songs, while keeping each unique. Pirates and Gladiator especially has a distinctive tone that shouts "Hans Zimmer!", yet the soundtracks are vastly different.

One of the great movie music composers up there with names like:
John Williams - Star Wars, Chariots of fire, Superman
Danny Elfman - Beetlejuice, Nightmare before Christmas

Band of Brothers was Michael Kamen, although I'm not sure if Hans Zimmer has a hand in them too ;)

Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Trevor Rabin, Mark Mancina, David Arnold, Harald Kloser, Harry Gregson-Williams, Howard Shore, James Horner, Klaus Badelt, Trevor Jones, Jerry Goldsmith are just a few of the good score composers.....

Personally, I think the music make the movies these days.....think of your favourite film and then imagine it without the score in.....doesn't matter how good the acting/the script/the props, if the music isn't there it wouldn't be anywhere near as good.....

LoTR, PoTC, National Treasure, Gladiator, Braveheart, Armaggedon, Robin Hood, Band of Brothers, Star Wars, Chronicles of Narnia, Transformers.....just a few films with some epic soundtracks.....

I do like Hans Zimmer, and he is very prolific.....not sure if he is maybe too prolific.....has a tendency to repeat similar scores and you definitely hear the same little tune in different scores.....but the guy should rightly be seen up there with the best of them.

Had always been a fan of Howard Shore and John Williams to now, the kind of music that you can listen to without the movie, ( in some cases is a great deal better than said movie ;) )

I do love orchestral pieces, both as a part of them, and listening. Zimmer definitely heads onto the list, that backing on the Rock is fantastic.

Thanks for link Noobert ;) I think my afternoon audio is sorted

No problem. I love music, I recently found a amazing artist..sort of, who smooshes music from certain movies together.

I will start a new topic so it doesn't get off-topic. :P
