Disclaimer: Before anyone posts saying "z0mg it r not sgw anymoar!111 it r pron0nced tgw!!!!!!111one111" I will continue calling the game "SGW" until such time that no-one understands me anymore
Games are meant to be won. SGW is a game, so how do YOU define "winning"?
Become rank 1 for a short time?
Grow so large that no-one dare oppose you?
Randomly mass every active player in existence, simply "for The Lulz"?
Get your military experience to rank 1?
Be known by everyone?
Personally, I think 'winning' for me is just having fun, testing my diplomacy skills and helping out others.. and in that case, I've already won, haha!
So why keep playing?.. Is the game actually 'winnable'?
Can you "Win" at SGW, and if so.. Your definition?

I guess wining in my definition is playing with honor, diplomacy, and, yes, sometimes letting people try to steal my naq and see how much they lose from my defenses.

There are only two criteria for winning GW.
Having fun and learning to make Braised-Ox Casserole.

"Winning"? Having fun I guess...it's not really a game you "win" at, more like a do-whatever-the-hell-you-want kinda game

Re: Can you "Win" at SGW, and if so.. Your definition?
I think it would be awesome if admin added missions and after a certain mission (single player mission or Alliance based mission) we get a special emblem or something next to our name and or alliance. I mean for example FFXI for xbox360 is not winnable per say. However, it does have the end game missions. Which is how you would "win". I just think missions need to be added to give a different flare to the game.
In regards to the actual question. Everyone has their own goals and dreams. Mine have been met personally. Though I always try to think of new ones. Having fun is always a priority.

Re: Can you "Win" at SGW, and if so.. Your definition?
nope, u can not "win" this game.
even those who claim they win by massing (ea, the make believe destroying of an account) did the math, they would find that for the most part, the higher your ME, the higher the cost will be to you ( if every thing was figured in naq)
so winning...hmmmmmmm
think we play to play, knowing the only winning is the satisfaction we get from some part of this experience, be it in game, on the forum, or with in the group of people u play with.
personally, i feel i have won..i can still say that a lot of people i started playing with, still are playing with me.

Meanwhile in MaYHeM
I rise up at night
I live just inside you
And give you a terrible fright
I walk through the darkness
I lurk under your bed
I live in your wardrobe
I creep up in the shed.
I tiptoe through the corridor
I follow you anywhere
I rip your braveness apart
And never ever care
I am fear so don't come near..

You most certainly can win the game...
Unfortunately to do it, you'd have to conquer everyone...every player in your alliance...
And that would suck...majorly...
So...you can win...but who the heck want's to?

Re: Can you "Win" at SGW, and if so.. Your definition?
to me the game can only be won if you reach all your goals and can come up with no more for yourself which in a game where there is nothing that cannot be achieved no you cannot win unless you reach all your goals of the moment at the same time the game is taken off of the net and ended forever
