Name: HITLER IS YOUR FRIEND.

I personally am not horribly offended by it. But I imagine there would be quite a few players who would be. Account appears inactive (has 5k ATs out), just thought I'd point it out.

I pass by that account every couple days, and everytime I can't help but uttering "Uhh, no." under my breath haha

But to be honest, it's no more 'offensive' (Rule wise) than replacing "Hitler" with any other name

I thought the same thing at first TBH.

What tipped it over the line was the inherent implication that Hitler was a nice person.

as a person whos great grandparents were part of the holocaust i am slightly offended but as an american who believes in the constitution and the ability to feel however you want i cant really say he should change it as thinking hitler is a friend or liing him or saying he is a good guy is all a matter of one persons opinion and its not fair for us to tell someone they cant feel a certain way.

Without discussing the "rightness" or "wrongness" of the player in questions choice, it is just as right for a a community to communicate its attitude towards his behavior. Just because he may have the right to express himself, doesn't make it "right".

but the point remains that he has just as much right to say "hitler is your friend" as we do to say "Hitler is a douche bag" its a matter of opinion. i guarantee if anyone posts any type of opinion there is someone else who will say "thats not right" should you be forced to change everytime someone doesnt agree with you?

The player knew what he was making his user name was offensive, if you disagree with that, come back to Earth please. It should be changed, he isn't using it to "express his opinion" about Hitler, but he is using it to be offensive to people probably because he thinks its funny to get a rise out of people. Agreed that everyone has a different opinion and they should be allowed to express them, but if wants to say Hitler was everybody's friend then he can find a better way to do it then making that his user name.

Don't make this simple matter in to something larger than it should be and is.
