Final Fantasy

I know Final Fantasy is a very big trilogy, and I know it started way back in the day when the 8-bit NES was around, but I didn't really played the series before, the only question I have about Final Fantasy is that do they tie in together, like lord of the rings? I like to buy Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 for PS2, just want to make sure I'm starting in the middle of a story line or is it a different story.

(I'm wondering what planet I was on, cause I hardly know what this series is about)

Ummm...

From what I understand FFX and FFX-2 are the only FF games that have a direct link in terms of story.

The others are just all separate games.
So any of them are pick up and play.
The only thing in common is maybe some summons and use of choccobos.

The final fantisy X is the beginning of the story and X-2 is the continuation but while X I found was an amazing story X-2 was not quiet as good but there great games never the less. hope you find them and enjoy them.

Figured that Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 are sequels, but wasn't quite sure if it links to other FF games, thanks ;)

none of the others link

they all have different stories, characters and worlds

FF X and FF X2 are one exception

FFVII has a sequel Dirge of Cerberus, a feature film Advent Children and 2 prequels Before Crisis, and Crisis Core, as well as some anime and stuff

as mentioned all/most of the final fantasy have things in common, namely the summons and chocobo's

as with most fantasy games, the different character sets are pretty constant, a guy with guns, a guy with swords etc etc

as far as i am aware, all the games have a character (playable in some) named Cid, not sure why, look it up on wiki lol

Obviously it is a fantasy type genre, and I know the FF Trilogy was started way back when the 8-bit console Nintendo was around, I've started playing a few of them on a NES and a SNES emulator to see what they were like, I didn't really played it long enough to see if it tie in to each other. I have also read that it is kinda mixed between Sci-Fi and fantasy, like advance guns with dragons and stuff like that.

I couldn't really tell you much about FF cause I hardly know much about FF myself, I just know very little about it, I know it's kinda like my favorite game though, which is Chrono Trigger.

Each Final Fantasy has it's own story to it. There are only squels to a few games. Final Fantasy IV has one squel which is the after years, Final fantasy VII has 3 I believe unless i've missed one out. Final Fantasy X has 1 which is X-2 and Final Fantasy XII has 1 for DS which is Final Fantasy XII: Reviant wings. Theres another one on DS it might be Final Fantasy CC.

Personally I thought Final Fantasy VIII was the best out of them all which was on PS1. Final Fantasy X was awsome thought. Storyline rocks and the ATB was the best out of them all. Blitzball for the mini game is just out of this world. If you do get it though make sure you do blitzball to get all Wakka's Overdrives.

Oops forgot something.. Anyways they have only re-made 4 of the game which are Final Fantasy I, II, III and IV. I and II are on PSP and III and IV are on DS. As a big Fan of the series i've completed most of the games (some I don't have) and waiting for the next title on PSP to come out which isn't an RPG but actually a fighting game with 11 good Characters from the series and 11 Bad Characters from the series. 1 good main character from Final Fantasy I - II and 1 main bad character from Final Fantasy I - X and 12...

When I played some FF games on my NES & SNES emulators, I never even seen porn or anything with mature or adult only content, maybe the PS2 and PS3 FFs may be only as high as teens so I think its not a big hoopla lke "To much blood & Gore" or "To much Sexual Jokes and Porn" or what ever it may be that is meant for older audience.

8-bit porn... is that even possible?

Could of all started with 7 with Tifa. But with all the FF's i've played i've never seen anything sexual. Just a couple of swear words. I do believe in Final Fantasy XIII (Out next year) One of the characters has a summon which are known as the Shiva sisters. They combine and turn into a bike. Well maybe this picture will explain things better. lol
