When I ascend, does my bank get smaller?
And yes, I will be untrainingg some miners, and shipping them away before hand.

Yes, it does. As soon as you untrain those miners.
It will go up by 20% (I think) when you ascend, and will increase again when you re-train your miners.

Correction, it only gets smaller AFTER the turn change when you untrain miners.
