Troop Production Equation

I am not too great at math, but I tried to find a way for me to plan out the amount of cash that I will need for new UP uprgrades anyways. (Really, I am just bored and not willing to admit that I miss school.

) So here it is.
n(x) + 15,000(x)= q
or
x(n+15,000)=q
n= current cost of upgrade
x= number of upgrades
q= amount of Naq needed
So there it is flaws and all . Does it work well enough? Any inherent flaws that you guys can see? Remember that I got a C on my Pre-Calc final so my work is a little iffy at best.

Everthing looks ok with your equn. to me except for the part about the current UP, or the nx part. Everytime you increase your UP, your cost increases your next up, so multiplying your current up by two after adding 15K to the current UP once wouldn't give the right answer. It's like compounding interest on the money in a bank; you're building on what you already had.
Directly from Deity's Guide to the Universe, located in the Neb/Faq fourn as a sticky it says:
Deity wrote:UNIT PRODUCTION
UP Upgrade Cost = 15,000+15,000F
.........................= 15,000(1+F)
............Where F = Unit Production Level (Which is just (Current UP-1)/3 E.g. if your current unit production is 583 per day then your unit production level is (583-1)/3= 194 which means that since starting, you have upgraded your unit production 194 times. The minus one is because you start out with a UP of 1 and this is divided by 3 because each level raises your UP by 3.)
Why? The initial upgrade costs 15,000 and each subsequent upgrade costs an additional 15,000 each time. So after 10 upgrades, it will cost 15,000 plus 10x15,000 (one lot of 15,000 for each subsequent upgrade).
Therefore Total Naquadah Spent To Reach Current Level is:
Total Upgrade Cost = ∫ UP Upgrade Cost dF
............................= ∫ 15,000(1+F) dF
............................= 15,000∫ 1+F dF
............................= 15,000(F+½2)
............................= 15,000F+7,500F2
............................= 7,500F(2+F)
Hope this helps.

Rotfl... You didn't need to do that math.
Stickies will save you time.
The Dietys guide has just about every forumla you could want.
Though I can't understand half of it.
Frankly I don't even bother with subrtracting the one,
Just (UP/3)x15,000naq. but that is just my sloppy and anti-math self.

Trust me. I AM BORED... Oh well, you guys can put this thread in the graveyard if you like, since it has already been covered.

Alright...
Kids let this be a lesson to you... Boredom leads to Math... Math leads to mental pain... Mental pain leads to a loss in sensory perception....Loss in sensory perception leads to a lack of information...A lack of information leads to even bigger n00bs.... Even bigger n00bs lead to spam.... Spam leads to mods....Mods lead to locking...Locking leads to deletion....Deletion leads to nothingness...Nothingness leads idleness....Idleness leads to boredom....

ive done Diety's equations and put all of them into a spread sheet, most of the ones i have done came out wrong, with the naq predictor it said in 1 turn id get 111million naq(be nice of it was true) and others seem to have no point at all. the only one that i gotten 100% accurate that i depend on is the UU predictor.

Trust me, they all work. I had the same problem when trying to turn them into an excel based spreadsheet. It seems Gate's is out to get me. I use a graphics calculator to do mine and just graph the equations.

Ok, here's the formula to get from 0 to X up:
Level = (X-1/3)
Level 1 costs 15k, level 2 costs 2*15k, level 3 costs 3*15k, and so on. So together, they cost 1+2+3*15k.
Cost=SUM(n=1..Level)*15k
Now, that doesn't help much if you don't know your maths so here's the formula to calculate the sum of 1..X: X*(X+1)/2.
So the total formula for going from 1 to X UP = (Level)*(Level+1) * 7.5k
To calculate cost from X to Y just calculate 1..Y - 1..X
For those interested, here's how the SUM formula can be explained:
SUM 1..N = 1+N + 2+N-1 + 3+N-2 and so on to N-1+2 + N+1.
Check the pairs and you'll see that they all add up to the same: N+1. And there's 1..N=N pairs, so the total of that sum is N*N+1. But you've added every term exactly twice so you have to divide by 2.
Example: sum of 1..10
1+10
2+9
3+8
4+7
5+6
6+5
7+4
8+3
9+2
10+1
=10*11
Divide by 2, and you get 55. That's how simple it is.

Math... causing mental pain... Losing awarness of suroundings... becoming a n00b... Spaming...
Seriusly, Sleipnir as n00b king I must express concern that my subjects (myself included) might not be able to understand your wisdom, let alone Diety's treastise on quantum physics that found it's way into the Ascension section of his guide.
Your making my head hurt

Ah Xeno, your person lexicon never ceases to amaze me. Where ever did you pull treatise from? I must admit though that I cannot find neither hide nor hair of this "Quantum Physics" you speak of and surely basic integration is less of a headache then summation. Perhaps we can scare new players into using the search button by answering all their questions in Sigma notation Sleipnir?
I must take a moment to congratulate Xeno on his outstanding effort in the New-Comers forum. By the time I log on of a night, there is not a single question left that Xeno hasn't either answered on commented on. I would start an appreciation thread but there are currently that many in existence that their sheer numbers dilute the reverence the "Appreciation Thread" should represent. So here is mine...
Cheers Xeno.

Head, swelling...Horribly...
I knew it...You and Spacey and Adjudicator are all trying to steal my flock of n00bs by asasinating me...Well it won't work

, my head has a vast strecthing capacity; it sucks up flattery like a PC sucks up dust. Your plan will not work...
The n00b king mocks your efforts
As for the quantum physics... I was mistaken... it would apear on closer inspection to be segments of binary for AEGIS. Coded into english for export to the GA.
:Ahem:
On topic...
Stickies save you time and effort and in some respects pain.
It is better to have a headache than to get sabbed after all.

Hahahaha, surely you can't hope to keep up this 'n00b' facade.
Well, if you choose to remain adamant, I’ll partake in your public declarations of "n00bness" and indulge this fantasy of yours. I must warn you though that the clock is ticking, even the most mentally dense (for want of a better adjective) new-comer has to have a realisation or two some time in their lives.
Surely they can respect a worthy player whose humility has not left them as much as a fellow n00b?
