happiness wont get you everywhere but meaning will
i think happiness and meaning would both drive you equally though happiness is more immportant in alot of peoples eyes i think happiness is more important to my family and i would have to choose haveing a meaningful life so i could provide happines for my family not for meself. thats life choices are always around testing our character and resolve.
Thank you
Jak

If you follow science at all.. with the current theories in place.. everything is ultimately meaningless. Everything.. absolutely everything.. you, I.. humanity does.. will come down to nothing.
Living in the here and now.. is the only logical way to live that's left.

Logic failed too long ago for a "meaning of life" answer...

ah the point of existence.
At the same time though, is it not illogical to have something meaningless? In a universe where cause and effect seem to be present, where most things HAVE a purpose... perhaps.. there is actually a meaning to life?
Is evolution not a wonderful example of just that? That logic does exist? If one cannot survive in an environment.. it dies. It is no use.

Meaning is purposeless if one applies that to life, life does not NEED to exist because we DIE after we live...its purposeless. Why we live is determined at a personal level, but the exact reason WHY life exists i'm afraid will forever elude us...the answer transcends the question and no living human being can answer...

Is it? WILL it?
Why do you think this?
I know a lot of people.. who.. cling very closely to scientific developments.. however.. science of yesterday.. is regularly contradicted by science today. It's much like religion and Philosophy.. it's so dynamic and we still know.. so VERY little about.. well everything.
We still don't fully understand how we store memories..and beyond. Yet at the same time.. we see systems. We see things with a purpose.. a point to existing.
However.. that is contradicted by cold hard science. So... who knows.. is the ultimate conclusion. Perhaps delving into the future.. is ok, but relying on it.... is a different thing.
To answer the question directly.. without meaning.. then life is pointless.. if life is pointless then..yeah. On the other hand.. perhaps it is wiser to find far more 'localised' meanings than.. anything on a grand scale.. as being truthful.. what.. if anything... can WE do on a grand scale as it stands? We don't know.. but from where I am sitting.. not much if anything at all.
So yeah. live in the now.. ponder tomorrow.. but don't let it rule you.

Purpose is all around its binds us, leads us, drives us.
purpose is built off of inevitability your purpose is inevitable it will happen eventually and it will change any and possibly all aspects of your or whoevers life.
Meaning is purpose and purpose is meaning.
so their is meaning and it can change our world look at religion as well as politics. im not going to get into that with anyone cause then we have to start riots in major cities to end it but just contemplate it amongst yourselves.
