Sorry if this is a repeat, but I read the stickies and they aren't updated with the info I'm looking for.

I was under the impression that you lost your mothership during ascension (this is stated in the FAQ) but I've been recently told otherwise. So what exactly is lost at ascension, and what is kept?

everything is lost but your MS slots, planets and lifers

your techs are lost
your UU
your army
your miners excluding lifers
your weps
your banked naq
your turns

Cheers. So you keep the slots, but have to buy the MS again?

And since the tech is lost, does that mean your slots gain the tech %'s again when you ascend and add them?

no you dont and if so its only 450 mil

but you lose all techs and their bonuses to your MS and wehn you buy them again you get the bonus

So the slots you previously get from tech upgrades will be lost?

Ah I see, so effectively you do get the bonus % twice, once before and once after ascending.

no...26k is the slots and 30k is the bonus. you lose the bonus but after ascending you buy the bonus back

I also have heard that you keep personal and market turns if you have either when you ascend.

yeah personal turns and MT's if you have not used them

just to clarify:

if you ascend, you loose your MS techs + the additional slots they gave you. So for example, before ascension (at tech lvl 10):

3000 shield slots
3000 shields

after ascension:

2000 shield slots
3000 shields

so you also keep the MS shields + MS weps you had before (NO FLEETS though, but the Fleet Hangars). If you loose shields while you have less slots then shields you can't rebuild them unless you build new slots. (to go with the example: you were attacked and went from 3000 shields to 2500. So as you still have 2000 shield slots you can't rebuild to 3000 shields unless you buy the tech lvls again / build slots to more then 2500)

You lose Fleets.... so best to sell them.

I have just heard today that there is a rule somewhere that i cant find that you must wait 14 days between ascension is this true

Yup you must wait 14 days of cool off time before you can ascend again.

There is a 14 day rest period between ascensions. Before then you are too weak....
