What would be the benefit in that?

Besides, Temple tradition is that nukes happen at the discretion of its moderators, at random intervals. Or am I wrong there?

by placing limits on it you do indeed destroy the randomness because you know its going to happen twice no matter what

just because you dont know the exact time it stands to reason that an intelligent person would figure it out without a problem if it is limited to twice a year......

more often that not nuking the temple is actually used when spam has become stale and repetitive and invigorating the temple by nuking it causing creativity allows for new threads to rise up and become popular.......


and if it were to happen only twice a year idk about you but six months isnt really a big variable.......

I agree with SS that nukes should be limited, and not just because he's the capt'n

I was extremely disappointed when the "counting/posting to 1,000,000" thread got nuked, after that nuking I've barely visited the temple since; because I know that soon enough, there will be another nuking, and everyone's time that was put into making funny remarks, entertaining posts, and sometimes just all around spam, will be ultimately wasted.

And @ Clarkey's "It's just Spam", How many forum users do you think we would lose if the temple suddenly vanished altogether?

Yes it is just spam to the spammers.

It is spam, therefore no matter who posts it it is still spam, therefore it is spam to the spammers.

I think.... no-one.

I was using it as an example of how important the temple is to the GW community.. No one's attacking you (As far as I know ) so I don't see why you're getting so worked up over this

I'm not getting worked up over it. I'm just saying it's just spam.
Sometimes when I visit the Temple i'm not surprised it gets nuked so often.

The other day I was in there and 1 person had made multiple threads of the same thing..... i mean it gets rather stupid in there.

Colton, the number of unique posters in the Temple is .. EXTREMELY .. limited. Primarily because most of the residents are multi's of Spacey or of each other.
While I may disagree with deleting the Temple's contents just for the heck of it, it's only natural for it to be 'pruned' often.

Warning people etcetera because they spam in the Temple would be plain stupid. So, on the other hand, would not keeping the Temple in check be. Simple as that.




You know what happens with weeds right? They produce a few glorious and wonderful flowers, which make them quite something you'd keep, but they suck the life out of everything surrounding it. Same with excessive spam threads.
You don't get warned for making the lot, so don't whine if you lose a few pretty flowers in another gardening operation.
Simple really. Or is that inconsistent?

If I had my way...and I have on several forums (admittedly made by me)...I'd give the spammers the ability to nuke threads, as in...DELETE...in the spam temple...





For the record, I was unaware that you were simply moving stuff to a secret forum...

for all my fellow spammers who think that's "nuking"...remember this:

There was a time when "Nuke" meant "delete all threads in the temple, including stickies, and laugh while the unwashed nubjehs wriggled on the floor like fish out of water"


In fact...I hereby propose, that we return to the old way...I really hate it when my posts start stacking up...the smell is awful...

It is the right of the second faction, and the job of spammers is to rebuild what they destroy...


If you can't handle the spam...get out of the can...
