He lost 2,965
I mean come on, he was unascended,, im a lg+1, im ori, GOD!
Everything I attack I lose more troops........
Help me understand this logic
(I did have 51,404 unarmed but still)
EDIT: I bought all my troops weps, and tried again, and same thing

Does the defender have def planets and/or a mothership helping? o_O
And how much are you hitting him/her with?

Perhaps its because you used normal attackers, and not attack supers?

based on % depending on the def your hitting you will lose X amount of troops, so lets say you are using alot more troops you are more pron to lose more. Im not 100% on the rate you lose but im sure someone better can answer you.

That's probably why, regular attackers die quite easily against super defenders.

You call someone a fool then ask people why you lost more?
Try a bit more respect then maybe advice will be given.

cut and paste right from the help & rules
War (attack/raid) Military Unit Death Rates: For a full 15 turn attack, 3% of your normal attack units can die (2% of defence units), while 1.5% (1% of defence units) supers can die. If you are at war and attacking, attack unit deaths are multiplied by 1.5. If both sides are at war, each is doubled. Ontop of this, defence unit deaths are multiplied by strike action/defence action and attack unit deaths are multiplied by defence action/strike action (there is a min/max of 10%/500%). Attacking at less that 20% of enemy defence causes no deaths to the enemy.

I read it a few times, actually. That 'formula' (for want of a better term) gives you a number of explanations. Your attacking losses are always a percentage of YOUR attack power. The last part (
green), which I thought you may be highlighting, refers to minimum attack in order to damage a defence. I do not believe it works the other way. That is, a defence does not need to match 20% of the attacker's power in order to do damage.
I could be catastrophically mistaken, however. The attacker will always have the highest potential percentage of troop losses after an engagement (3% as opposed to 2%). I guess it's just the price for being the aggressor.

It's now a 30% min not 20 or the 25% it has been for the past few months.
And no you are not catastrophically mistaken. Strike will always take some losses when attacking, except for attacking a 3 defence.
Interestingly, that attack/defence or defence/attack multiplyer that varies the %'s losses is the reason why lowest defence is 3 and not zero. Otherwise the calculation could not occur when you divide by zero.
