Finally a 40k movie!
Too bad it's gonna be terrible. First of all, it's 13+ meaning there isn't enough blood, (hey! If people don't get cut to pieces with chainswords, or if people don't get split open then eaten by 'nids, it's not 40k at all!)
Another thing, the same company making this, is made Bionicle, I myself didn't watch the entirety of that movie, because it was SO terrible. But maybe this movie is turning into a cartoon
More Criticism:
Ultramarines are WAY over-used, I mean seriously, all the Ultramarines' 'tellable' stories are about them facing 'nids. Nothing interesting, if they were to make any good story that isn't overly cliche like any other typical movie, they wouldn't have gone with the Ultramarines, rather some chapter like Death Guard - Something which isn't really 'known' by the community. I would rather them create a new 'story' based off something already existing, than have them elaborate on something which is already, excessively told.
Slightly less criticism:
Regardless, any 40k movie is worth watching, and I hope this turns out to be something which deserves the 40k title, not something which has no relevance to the main series whatsoever (i.e. SG: Infinity, C&C:G)

Imperial Fists ftw however if the do a 40k movie you need to include the inquisition and some excellent renditions of daemons ripping through poor defenseless imp guards

tbh, there are numerous factions in the 40k universe worthy of there own film
but yes, the age rating does imply that it won't be nearly violent enough
i'd like to see what they do with marnius calgar tho

bah...
animation my ass.
With Warhammer 40k.. it's simple.
They have loads of things they could do.
Firstly Horus Heresy: The Trilogy. That would probably be a HUGE movie event i'd imagine. Start off with Horus turning in the first film and the struggle. Then have the second begin with him rallying his troops and end with the drop massacre as Istan V (i think I got the planet right). Then they have an entire film to do the siege of the emperor's palace and that final confrontation.
If not that.. then perhaps the Ultramarins and hive fleet behemoth. That would truly make an epic film or two.
If not that they have death watch kill teams. Space hulks? Armageddon. Cadia. The inquisition. Would all make good films. Though I reckon Kill teams and inquisition would make a better TV series.

I personally would prefer them NOT to do something which has already been overdone. They *would* indeed be epic, BUT I personally would like some small, mysterious chapter to be 'elaborated' on, or perhaps the birth of the Inquisition or something

there are plenty of Black Library books out there, which could easily be adapted into films
tbh, regardless of what they do, someone is gonna be dissapointed, because there is no way they could have all the factions represented in any one film
Making a film/films of the Horus Heresy would be good, but the characterisation of the Primarchs would suffer greatly. It would either characterise Horus and a few others, and totally ignore the rest, or it would attempt to deal with them all and be way too long
Armaggedon campaign would be pretty impressive tho

Man get in the terminators, dreadnaughts and the grey knights for some ass kicking fiesta and should have a movie.... agreed though, impossible for a PG movie to do justice to any degree of the carnage of 40k!
Thought maybe the blood ravens get a bit of a run? but i guess they get a little time in the game's... Love the CGI intro's to the games <3
Imperial quote of the day :
There is no such thing as innocence, only degree's of guilt
