Is the forum lagging?

Feel a bit silly asking this but is the forum lagging? For about a week now it seems every topic I click lags by about a minute. Clicking 'reply' to a post takes longer.
On really bad days I get the "max user connections" error, which doesn't make sense when there are 5-10 people online.
Does the forum need a clean out to help speed things up? I have a feeling siggies are behind it but I always have them turned off so it shouldn't affect me. Other than that I don't have any explanations why it is lagging so much. Even GW main server is running 10 times better than the forum for me.
Any help would be appreciated

I have noticed the max user error a couple of times, usually around 10-11am GMT. since that isn't that far off from the game backup lag.. I hadn't really thought much of it

I have the same thing. Just the forum, nothing else.
Well, other forums too, but only the former 'herebegames.com' forums. *grin*

the times we've noticed, are: 1000-1015 & 1100-1115 (all times in CET)

The forum cant really lag... the server can.
You guys need to know that on this server, there are more forums running, not just this one and I feel that the server would need an upgrade.

hmm, right now the 'lag' is bad. And about an hour and 15 minutes ago it was really bad. It gets frustrating but it seems to clear up if you give it 5 or 10 minutes.

thats when the forum backups are made... every day around that time...
