i've searched all over the net and the help thingy in windows 7 and now i'm getting seriously pissed off!
i want to turn off "AUTO-ARRANGE" in files and folders so i can arrange the contents off my folders in any order i like. this feature was in in XP and vista and was easily turned on and off, unless i'm missing something, they hid it or i'm going blind, i cant see it anywhere...
help please.

There are a few features they removed. I would also suggest dualbooting Win7 and WinXP.
i've had a dualboot for the past year. but thanks anyways.

Surely KMA you've heard of the oft-quoted excuse that MS loves to trot out on occasions such as this
[sarcasm mode]
its not a bug/problem/insecurity/downgrade (delete or add as appropiate) its a feature!

The mouse is also a feature since you can use your mind to control you body
thats how much sense these "features" have...
