DDE vs BAU THREAD

Was locked today before the end of the war and without authors request. Not happy about it.

Come on JT, it was locked because the war was over.

clarkey, it's not becausse a war is over that a topic should be closed instantly, alot of ppl like to chat about the war for a couple more days. i mean do you stop talking about the soccer game the second the referree blows the wisthle ?
since the topic isn't derailed and might still have a usefull purpous it should be reopened for a couple more days. after wich it is okey for mods to close it off.

he did leave it 23 hours. i thought you normally left it open for averaging 24 hours.... so hows he in the wrong?

i'm just saying that yes even tough the war is finished that it shoudn't be closed off when one side asks for it to remain open an another side isn't complaining about being open (with what i know)
now just awnser me, what is the harm of reopening the topic for a while longer ?

Fact 1 - War ended BEFORE thread was originally locked, JT was wrong.
Fact 2 - Initial complaint was about the fact that the thread was locked BEFORE war ended.
Even though BAU members and myself congratulated each other in the thread when the war came to an end certain people still thought the war was going, even though 7 days had finished.
Locking the thread would give a clear sign the war had officially ended.
Zeek, you keep going on about the fact that there's no harm in leaving the thread open for a bit longer, but the main point of this complaint thread was that the thread was locked BEFORE the war ended...... which is WRONG!

Whats so difficult here? The thread was locked at the start of oct. 16 not at the end 0000 gametime?

No the thread was NOT locked at Oct16 00:00:00 GameTime.
When i came on forums this morning and saw all this the game time was Oct16 22:00:00 or close to that, and the thread was not locked 22 hours prior to that.

The start of Oct16 IS 00:00:00
The end would have been Oct17 00:00:00.
GameTime: Oct17 - 05:23.13 <<<< current game time.

Seems to me the thread was locked 9hours and 20mins after the war ended, however the norm is to leave the thread open for around 24hours.
Will leave this open for a little longer before i make a decision to see any further arguments

The norm is to leave it open for like 24hrs, but it's never set in stone.
And that was not the initial complaint.
