'Multiple' accounts question

This is the best section I could think of asking this, if it is wrong, please move it
So, a little while ago Clarkey brought to the attention the fact that I may be a multi. That is all well and good, admin cleared me, and I accept that my activity was a tad suss
But here is my question(s):
1) Is it acceptable to buy a 2nd account, transfer the resources to your main account, put 2nd account on vacation, and advertise the 2nd account as for sale as your own property?
The way I interpret multi-ing is someone having 2 or more accounts all actively feeding one main account. What I state in Q1 is not really multi-ing in that sense, but more purchasing goods and partaking in a trade of recourse, with an account (in this situation) being classified as a resource.
The most questionable act would be the need to log on to 2 accounts in order to transfer the initial resources from the bought account to the main account. Does that single act become multi-ing?
I am interested in hearing opinions both from active players, and sources of authority.

i think your right hippy, if your buyimg another account to strip it and sell it or add it on to yours, then kicking the shell on, that is not multi as you were not actively using the advantage of two accounts generating resources...

well i sold my eag for ingame resources with the purpose of buying another account for cash then putting all said resources into the new one so now my eag is gone i have an un-ascended account wich gathers uu,ats and naq for when i get my new account but..
ip rule means you wont be able to pass resources onto a new account from old anyway once logged into new to take it over so my way is that you pass on all resources to trusted friendsto hold,vac youre shell and take over new account ready and waiting for youre resources back.
hence no multi,no multi login or confusion

You are correct. This would not be considered multi, since your not actively using both accounts.
Not to mention, the proof against you would be so weak, that i doubt someone could catch you out. Especially the way you said it.
But i would advise advising admin that you are doing this with a new account, to prevent auto-banning

Jason himself has allowed players to have two accounts, being one is permanently on vacation as long as it's in your possession. He also allows a few hours or so of Multi use when transferring resources between accounts, you may get auto-banned but a simple E-Mail or visit to Admin Meet will remedy your situation without problem.

IMO, having 2 accounts, wether one is vacationed or not, is multing. If you have access to 2 accounts and can log into said other accout, because its still in your possesion, its multing.
Think, if im allowed to have accounts on vacation, sell one up, use the other, sell one up, use another. Its a way people can hide there identiy in a sense. Mass an account, delete there account, bring old one off Vacation, and so forth.
Well by giving Norbe permission he set a precedent, assumedly if Norbe was allowed, everyone else is as well. Also Mark himself said that you are given time to transfer resources between accounts and it's not considered Multi'ing, I also would assume that he knew you would be keeping your old account indefinitely or selling it, vacation either way.

Hmm interesting...
So if I bought an account, gave resources to my main account, put the bought account on vacation....I would *probably* be in the clear - but there is still not certainty.
How about, if I then advertise in the account selling section that I am selling a 'second' account? - I am sure this would cause some controversy...but would it be legal?
Going by discussion so far it seems that it would be, but once again, official confirmation is needed...

I think i'd have to agree with EMP on this on Tet..if its not being activily used its not generating anything for that matter or helping your active account.. and if you wanted to mass someone and delete your account...lol.. go for it... sicne you'd be deleting it it wouldnt be very helping to you now would it.. how ever.. if you vacation your account make a new 1 build it up mass someone and then delete it then yes of course thats multiing..
but if you have one you buy a new one transfer resorces from old to new vac old and play new and sell things or something and end up massing someone then deleteing that'd be a bit different but tbh i dont think anyone would buy an account with $$ or mass amounts of ingame res just to mass someone with it then delete it... seems to be quite a waste if you ask me.
i could see someone making a new account or paying someone to mass the person rather then wasting resorces buying a new account.
but hey i could be wrong... but i highly doubt that'd happen.

this is all going on the assumption that the ip rule dosnt exist..but it does so unless admin are super quick with the exempt then how can you transfer goods from old to new??

In times past, and in my dealings with asking Admin these same questions, Admin stated to me that having an account on vacation is not multing. and he openly allowed 30 mins or 1 turn to transfer resources from bought/sold accounts. Main point being, once the transfer occurs, you NEVER log back in.
You can't say having an account on vacation is multing for 2 reasons. You have to be actively playing 2 accounts at the same time to multi, and all anyone has to say is, "I sold XXX account to XYZ for 3 months, he never played it and sold it back to me".
I would love to see Admin actually respond, but I wouldnt get my hopes up.

this is actually a very good question, because i've one or two or accounts on vacation, but i don't remember the login as they aren't worth selling!
