Damn 2008 / 09, thats a tough call, so much rubbish to sort through to try a find 5 good ones
Seriously try to remind yourself of what was released in these years here
http://movies.toptenreviews.com/list_2009_20.htmI will not vote for the overhyped massive budget stuff like Wolverine, Star Trek, T4, Inglorious Basterds, they simply did not live up to expectations, instead my choices will be
Wall-E - I got this for my little niece, she loved it and if I'm honest I watch every minute with her and loved it to.
In Bruges - Never even heard of it until I was bored one night and it was on Sky, but got totally engrossed in a unique story with great believable characters.
Hancock - I know it got a slating but I thought it was a great new take on the superhero idea, probably me if I has superpowers lol
Penelope - Another kids movie I thought I would be forced to watch for their sake and ending up really enjoying.
Vantage Point - Not the first movie to show a story from all the characters perspectives, but probably the best of it's kind.

from between 2008 and 2009? (making it movies from '08)
or what? >_>
From Jan 1st 2008 to today in YOUR country.
It means, if a movie released in 2003 in some country got released last year in yours, it's included.

In no particular order (as I enjoyed them all quite a bit):
The Dark Knight - always been a fan of Batman, and the new movies are doing 'im justice.
Star Trek - It was actually quite decent, and so finds a place on my roster.
Wall-E - Dude...sentient trash compactor falls in love with violent space I-pod...seriously...
Hancock - Because he is a glorious bastard, played by Will Smith...
District 9 - Impressive.
