Tried to log in before, And never typed my password, so...got this.

Now it turns out that i tried to log in again, And wait for it, My account was working just fine. So it looks like the game might have a bit of a trojan horse, or something....

The actual e-mail to send is Admin@gatewars or something along those lines, and the fact it asks for passwords is VERy suspiscious.

Anyway, Just thought i'd note it here, So to recapp.

DONT send an e-mail to that address with your Password or infact, any info on it. And if your account is actually frozen, E-mail admin@gatewars.com.

Just Going to send Jason an email about this, because he doesnt use the @stargatewars anymore, i assume that account has been hacked.

In that case i would worry admin jasons account has been compromised, Because he isnt useing any "stargate" related terms in his official buisiness anymore, through fear of a lawsuit...

Well ive seen more elaborate hacks than this, If this is infact one. So i dont trust it.

For all we know, Jason has been locked up in his cellar and theres an insane clone stealing everyones accounts.

Either way, the fact remains my account was not frozen, AND the messege asked for my password, Which it shouldnt do, Jason has DB access, he doesnt need our passwords.

The email addresses haven't change in that thread, either.

As for the issue at hand, I had a similar thing happen to me on Sunday. I logged in using the correct credentials and got an error message saying that my password was changed by the game admin and to use the "recover password" link to get my password. When I used the form to recover my password, the email contained the password I had used. I then just logged in without an issue.

yes, anything asking for password is odd...

there's been a bit of problems with accounts going onto and off vacation when they're not supposed to, but not sure if its in any way related...


it might be that he's engaged a security thing to prevent that issue, with those that hadnt changed email, simply having to use recover password to reactivate their accounts... (we're on vac on main, so we cant check...)

Exactly, So, Ipso Facto, Pointo Being, Admin doesnt need our passwords, yet this messege is asking for them. Thus i am suspiscious.

I got that e-mail Adress off admin Mark. He is the game/user admin who is around more than jason. So, IDK if jason does still use the old e-mails or has forgotten to update them Still, it all isnt adding up.

@Zer, Maybe so, but i didnt get a password recovery, I was asked to SEND my password via e-mail.

Dont trust.

Hence, what im saying is, Dont send your password or any other details to that e-mail account, cos it shouldnt need them if it really is admin!

My account was put on vac by admin last Friday and once I got it reactivated I changed the password. Last night when I tried to log in I got the account frozen message and couldn't log in no matter how many times I tried so I left it over night. Didn't bother sending the email and this morning when I couldn't log in again I used the forgotten password link and got an email back saying

Your login: Credadun
password: *********.adminchangedFerSucurty

the *s being my old password so the rest was just added to the end of it. When I used that it logged in fine. Changed my password again first thing on logging in.

So yeah, dodgy stuff.... try the forgot login link before sending any emails to anyone. I thought the password I got back was rather amusing in itself...

This has happened twice to my friend Credadun. I DK it is very uspicious and should definitely be looked at...
