I am just started ascending again for the first time in norm.

To cut my time down i thought i would use the 3point gnr ranks to do it 3 times faster, then i was getting 5 gnr points instead of 3
and could ascend 2 times a week almost, I finally get up to enough GnR points to ascend and it tells me this instead of the little ascension picture.

There is a 14 day rest period between ascensions. Before then you are too weak....

So if i new this crap i would have never waisted my UU in building myself to be ranked in the top 100 and the extra cost of repairing my off weapons on farming runs was putting a sizeable dent in my profits too.

can some one tell why can you earn so many GnR points only to have to wait just like if you were getting 1 point per turn. ???

to stop rank one ascending to top ascension in a few weeks

indeed... to prevent people from ascending non-stop and staying on ppt the whole time...

yeah imagine the big empires brought money together and ascended all their players in a matter of weeks

gives you the chance also to raid and farm with a rank of 10k then 4 days or so before the 2 weeks is up train peeps get into top range and ascend then repeat

well it kinda sucks i thought i could get all my ascensions out the way in 2 and bit months now it will take me just over 8 months

But now i know i can keep myself small for a week and raid heaps then just jump to 140-1 rank get 5 GnR points and then ascend,
still 1 ascension in a fortnight to the 3 i was hoping for kinda slowing me down but at least i know i don't have only 4 days to make about 20 trill naq to rebuild each 5th day too

The original reason was to stop some hackers/cheater/exploiters who were ascending every few days. Then it was never removed when it was determined how they were doing it.

How where they doing it? Something I picked up from another forum member a while back who mentioned that some had managed to trick the game into giving them more than one ascension at a time. Genius, whoever pulled that off if true.

No, it was not more then 1 at a time, they could just produce infinite amounts of resources at will. They ascended, hit rank 1, had rank 1 stats, and planets that were uncreatable due to their not even being that many resources in the game.

Then he just left the measure in the game. There were alot of complaints back in the day. Remember when Brian went 45 days straight on PPT doing speed ascentions (Back when there was only 10 of them).

The 14 days period tricked me too when I started ascending again, you're not the only one
but the regret of investing so much in getting in top 100 will be over when you realise how expensive are in fact the 23 ascensions...hope it's worth in the end lol
as for me, the fact there are so many and it takes so much time to give 23, 14 days instead of 20 still seem good enough to get me to 100 rank asfter each ascension

I don't mind it too much, gives me a chance to recover, and towards the end its gonna be expensive.

23 ascentions times 2 week intervals is 46 weeks of ascending if you never miss an ascention. Add that to the the time to get started and ready for the first and your looking at a year to a year and a half.

Guess you do atleast have a "long term" goal here LOL
