Setting Color

I had this idea after talking to a few guys in work, basically what happened was, i introduced two friends i work with to the game, they both made accounts, then deleted them within like a few hours, after talking to them, they both said that the White text on the black background along with red here and there, made it to hard to read, and was painful on their eyes.

Now, i personally dont have an issue, but on other sites i have seen i do have issues with certain color mixes that others dont.

Im not to sure how hard it would be to introduce, but under the user preferences from the command center, a setting that allows people to change the text color and or background color to allow for easier reading.

good idea.
TBH, the unfinished look of the forum probably puts a lot of people off.

Good idea it also helps people who cant see colour well to play it more easily.

The forum shoulldnt be to hard to do and by unfinshed look, i dont know what you mean?

Yeah, my bosses actually noticed the color was always on my screen.. wondered it what it was.. since I couldnt say it was google or something I could claim was work related, I had to stop playing it (at work).. ok, at least I have my phone :)

But changing the color scheme shouldnt cause much grief, right?

Good idea, and mostly cosmetic. You just have the color tags customizable basically

Well i know in FireFox there are tools that could let you change colors etc, however not everyone is good at using tools like this, and some have no clue at all, it would be easier for admin to introduce it into the game, that way its easier for people to change it, and admin could also add a reset button to set it back to default colors, incase someone messed up bad.

What really grinds my gears is the fact that the screen flashes white whenever you change page in sgw, then goes very quickly back to its normal black. That really tires my eyes out and I find that massing/raiding can get very annoying because of this.

So yes, I would much rather have a different colour on the screen.

a while ago we reprogrammed our firefox to give us a gray background instead of white, so it isnt hard... (just find the right setting on the menu)

Now make that work for someone who doesnt use FireFox.

Like i said, the setting needs to be ingame, not on the browser.

i like this idea, changing the text or background colors making it easier to read, would be excellent.

we didnt claim that was a perfect solution... for it isnt...

the reason black is base color, is load time... but we cant see harm in enhancing colors a bit...
