realm alert

something I was pondering.

So we all use realm alert when in war or to prevent farming and stuff.

I just think it's not logical that while your realm is on alert only your incoming attacks are delayed. I think it should be the same for outgoing attacks.

In other words having realm alert on means your own attacks on others are delayed as well.

Of course it would not make much of a difference when both adversaries are on the same realm alert but when the situation is different this adds more strategy, ie. you want to mass/raid really fast so you will have to change your own realm alert, leaving yourself a tad vulnerable to counters

Any thoughts?

err. I don't think realm alert adds delays - nox does.

But I get your point, and I support it - will make online battles *MUCH* more interesting.

Realm alert DOES add delay. Nox only +1 seconds to the delay made by realm alert, and allows phasing.

Or even say no attacking if above normal, since your armies are to worried about incoming attacks to attack themselves (self preservation)

Ugh. Realm alert does NOT add delay. It only affects the delay IF you turn on nox. But I like your idea about the self preservation.

I've raided 1-200k uu from someone with realm alert, and they never phased :/
But i could be wrong

sure it gives you a delay .. lets prove that ... i now have my realm alert on critical and im not on NOX

my id = 65108
try to hit me ... say 5 times in a row using the enter button .. tell me .. did you get them all in at once or was there a delay?
ow ... well this may be a bit too much so i'll just elect, let's see ... Cabal to do it (to prevent like a 100 players doing 5 attacks on me ...)

Self-preservation idea sound okay but that may hit with a lot of counters from others since they then have to really leave themselves wide open for counter-attacks that may distress them too much to support the idea.

Phasing kicks in after approximately 620ATs ahve been used in successful attacks against you if on nox and critical. Lower realm alerts mean more ATs can be used. So that's probably your explanation Sarevok.
