Something that needs to be fixed...

The word bastard does not seem to auto mask. Having been told off for apparently masking I feel it necessary to express my annoyance at the fact that I have seen at least two members post this word whilst browsing through the forum today, without any apparent penalisation.
Bastard = profanity.
/Dusty - Awkward hungover mood.

Yes it was removed a while back.
Apparently it was not considered enough of an insult to warrant being on the filter list.

And saying WTH gets you a warning?
Which stupid bastard thought that up?
Oh and the word piss too. Stupid bastard piss pot filter system that doesn't work with some stupid bastard piss pot jobsworth moderators. Is that insulting enough?

Can't remember really... but then again if I did and said the name i'd be in breach of leaking the mod forums.... oh wait doesn't matter if i do now.
But seriously, I can't remember who exactly, but there were mixed feelings about it.
Definitions of bastard on the Web:
* **Filtered**: insulting terms of address for people who are stupid or irritating or ridiculous
* the illegitimate offspring of unmarried parents
* derogatory term for a variation that is not genuine; something irregular or inferior or of dubious origin; "the architecture was a kind of bastard suggesting Gothic but not true Gothic"
* bogus: fraudulent; having a misleading appearance

Would you let your children say it? I don't think so. It is an expletive.
Along with piss and arse that are all also unfiltered.

Hey, silly.. that's for that 'hareel mudda farqar' or whatever. Ask Sara, he issued the warning.
As for the rest, if the basic form of the word is not on the filter, it's not a profanity. If you use a word of which the basic form is on the filter, but which has been modified to bypass it, you're masking and that too is a warnable offense.
Since you needed that cleared up. Apparently in Canada and the USA 'bastard' is not that big a deal.

Probably as long as you can stand the shame of acting like a rebellious teenager with an Urban Dictionary..

Come on, don't be silly.

No, I'm trying to help you people. This place is so full of double standards, I am trying to help you eradicate them. This is the most effective means of doing so.

Oh, is that what you're doing. Right. Your concern is touching.
Good intentions. Hell. You draw the map.

Don't be so sarcastic you. I'm trying to help and you're being exactly what you just called me further up.

Feel free to do it. Just do not complain when you get a warning for profanity/abuse.
You cannot honestly expect the filter to cover EVERY word that could be used to insult.

You see now that is exactly what I'm talking about. You say feel free to use it but don't expect not to be warned for profanity. For a word that is not on the filter, this is rather awkward.
What I am suggesting is that you add the words to the filter.

No it would be silly to cover every word because people can be insulted by anything.
However, this particular word was already on the list so it should have just stayed as it hurt no-one being on there.
