With the loss of every player .... *Sentimental thread

Legend. Love him or not. (Yall know who im talking about) Yes i know theres alot of conjecture over weather he is or isnt, but thats not my point hes hardly here anyway.
It occurs to me the "History" of sgws never got finished. With his loss, EtL takes with him a vast knowledge of the early history that helped shape the game, (alot of it behind closed doors) alot of that history now resides forgotten.
So my question to you all is...
What do you really know about the events, the occurances and the characters who helped shape this game? Or are you just not bothered, turning up to smash the next noob who crosses your path? Have we all lost touch with what made the game so great and fun?
Share all!
I for one wish to get a little nostalgic.
So, setting the scene, the summer of 05. Sits a young man no older than 16.... at his computor, he has been playing a game for a few months or so now... but didnt actually realise there was a community. So into the chat room i venture...
I start chatting to a nice australian guy called whitey, some very uppety girl caled nuto vixen, a fruitcake called _apophis_ when all of a sudden, two very strange characters enter the chat room.
Replijake and EnterTheLion.
Im chatting away and they suddenly inform me i am the payed target of someone and that the omega massing corps is going to hit me in the next 24 hours. Being not very good at the time (and still probally not now may i add!) i change my ingame name, sell off my defence weapons and generally set my account to war mode. Much to amusement of the Omega massing corps, who then inform me its a joke.

I say I have lost touch with this game completely. Only reason I even show up anymore is just to sell stuff or trade stuff to fund me and my friends on other games. The game no longer has any meaning, and the poor activity of the admin all but seals the long term fate of the game. To many bad decisions, to little backbone when it came to tough decisions, and a complete lack of even trying anymore just makes even loggin in a chore.
As for the people, there are still many good people, and many coming into the game, but there is nothing left to do. Within a week or so everyone knows carry no defense, a massive strike, and that no one can be hurt, yet alone stopped. One man can hound an entire alliance.
To me, thats what has killed the game the most. Its just mindless button pushing that has no result. you can mass an sit on anyone for as long as you like and they will continue to grow like nothing has happened.
As for history, some is lost with the leaving of each person who moves on. ETL was honestly before my time, but I knew him and many things about him, same as many others. The loss of any player is a loss for us all.

Also in addition to lores comments:
I think the game is way to easy. I found the game in September of 09. I thought it would be a nice chaliging game. but in the liittle bit iv been here iv allready raided over 200 mill uu only logging in one a week. I think admin should take the script and open a new GW server thats a exact of GW. or give control of the game to some one who cares about the game and the people.

I have seen this before as some other in this game have before.
The game didnt make him enough money to keep the server(s) paid. From one day till the other the game was down as well was the forum.
All that history of a few years gone...
So I am drawing the near future here.
The next thing that happened in the weeks to follow were people searching for contacts they had on msn. A sort of an emergency-forum was made, where ppl still could get some info. But it wasnt set up by the admin ofc.
Really sad thing. So all info on these forums, the fun we are having will be gone in a few months/years from now.
I hope we find a solution...to pay for our own server perhaps.
EDIT:
You all know ACE, the son of one of our passed friends, tried to re-establish the game as it was. But it never got how it once was.

maybe not put in a half finished update and walk away for a year and 7 months like he has done with the alliance bank?
maybe address REAL issues that get raised repeatedly such as the bugs with planets and not being able to reclaim them?
Shall I go on?
But mainly just actually act like he even cares anymore would be a good start.

As far as nostalgia, this game is not much as it formerly was. Due to a combination of no updates of substance and the most recent updates being pointless or ill conceived.
The game barely has changed since I left over a year and a half ago. Of course, I'm sure a war that has lasted the entire time might affect it somewhat. Still, no significant updates or changes in gameplay have taken place. Granted, there aren't that many updates possible..but still. For example, the Alliance Bank..still has no use and no use for the foreseeable future.
Lately I find myself reading old character histories or alliance wars. Reading Esker, Semper's and others histories really bring me back and remind when attacks were political and not for ME..along with all the characters who made the game unique who have since departed. I mean, who even remembers the original bloody sunday or Pianomutt and his massing adventures. Granted they don't matter much in today's sgw, but they're more entertaining than the current landscape of the game.

sounds like the admin doesn't care about the game because he might not be making much from it..
does he even attend those Wednesday meetings?
perhaps someone should demand an answer
