It's like aspiring for a higher goal. Everyone wants to be better than a standard or at least the same as it.
We are the standard in this case; the german supercar that everyone wants... and they are the chineese who try to copy the german car, then tell that it's their own creation.
In a harsh word... just wannabes, but i'm affraid that this word is used so often that it's not an insult anymore.

everyone who calls themselves a serious alliance has awards.
But I admit.. the timing isn't everything.

I will try and reply to this in a sensible way.

Ok the awards was my idea. it came about when we were doing the secret santa on the main forum, i thought about doing one just for TTF but alot of people were busy with holiday period and so on. and then i looked around had a chat with some people and we had not done awards before so i thought it might be a good idea as we have alot of members.
nothing to do with DDE, nothing to do with NS awards, its just that time of year. maybe i got the idea from the Oscars

In any case, could someone list what alliances/empires had their awards?
I know of DDE, Nemesis, TTF, these boards.. did Hidden Village Empire have awards?
Omega's Empire?
I mean, if we're listing them all.. we could have an award for the best award.

Skull/Slacker Squadron would have awards, but they'd be more along the lines of...
- Most Consecutive Days Not Logged On
- Most Consecutive Days Not Made An Attack
- Most Time Spent Killing Zombies
- Most Time Spent With Girlfriend
- Most Time Spent Playing Xbox While Farming
I'd probably be the only one around to vote, too...

I'm not sure that DDE were the first people in the history of the universe, or even the game, to come up with the idea of awards.

But surely the fist alliance in SGW to host alliance awards annually
