The SG1 movie

"On 8 January 2010, Michael Shanks told SciFi Wire that the proposed third SG-1 direct-to-DVD Movie is unlikely to happen due to the large delay between the second movie and now. He commented, "Never say never", but appeared skeptical that such a movie would ever be made, saying, "This might be the closing of the book on that particular [chapter of the] franchise."

This was from Wikipedia... Ouch MGM thanks for another pat on the back!

Everybody wants money, it's pathetic.

What would you do with 500 million that you couldn't do with 50?

It's redonkulous. These celebrities piss away their money, and people wonder why the world is lacking. Ha.

I love Michael Shanks, but if he turns out to be like every other money grubbing SOB, I'll go merc his ass.

Noobert, the Hollywood hitman

I agree the amounts these so called 'stars' are paid is obscene, wonder how they would survive int he real world as a 9-5 wageslave. Bet there artistic tendencies will soon have them slitting their wrists

RDA - loves the fan.

Tapping - Ditto

Judge - Ditto

Shanks - Ditto

MGN are to blame. Dont blame the people who star in it. At one point an episode of SG-1 cost up to 6 million USD. MGN simply arnt willing to provide the budget for actors, Effects, Sets etc. If you want to be angry at anyone be angry at them.

but this is the biggest problem with the TV/Movie idustry, the studios and companies just don't care...

how many good shows have been cancelled on season finales and no edning ever brought forth?

To true, thinks of Deadwood, Sarah Connor Chronicals, and many others cancelled in their prime.

Studios only care about profit margins, and sadly you can make higher profits making mediocre cheap shows and than making high quality expensive shows.

BUT

The 'Stars' do play a part in this, as shows become more popular 'stars' demand higher and higher pay for each new series.

When Shanks left SG1 the 1st time it was over money

I think RDA left for better reasons, he saw that the show had run to long and was starting to go down hill, and he got out when he could still end on a high.

Tapping and Judge I dont know about, I like the think the best about Tapping just because she's a babe but who knows.

Mez, ive been to a fan conventon *geek*

And i can tell you right now why tapping, Judge and the fella who plays apophis jump at the chance. The fans.

Literally.

The guy who plays apophis whos name escapes me all the time, Actually wasnt due to appear at the convention i went, He flew over with his OWN money to meet the fans.

It really is Mgn.

I understand they are in it to make money but, i dont see why they cant have one last, BIG hurrah. Spend abit of doh. They will be makeing money off selling the franchise for years and even if they cut a loss on makeing a proper movie, theyd cover it with what they made off the series.

Its a ridiculas scenario.

RDA actually only left cos of his divorce and wanting to spend more time with his kid in minnisota.

Well it proves some actors/actresses like their jobs and the ones liking what they do.
