Well I never had a 10MB HDD, but my first PC in 1992/3 had a

386sx 25ghz processor
40MB HDD
1MB RAM
3.5' FDD
Windows 3.1
DOS 5

I built it myself from 2nd hand parts I got from scrapped trade in PCs at the shop I worked in, the only bit I paid for were 2x 512K RAM cards which cost about £20

Mate I dont think there is any way to describe how awesome the old Speccy was to anyone who wasnt there in he early 80s but I will try

The only consoles around had games which consisted of moving lines ( representing bats/players ) to hit dots ( representing balls ), PCs were for businesses not home use, there was no such thing as the internet, no DVDs/CDs, hand held games had the graphics physically printed on the screens ( only one game ) and cost bucks, then the Speccy arrived, cheap enough for every kid to have, with hundreds of great games on audio cassettes so you could copy & share them with your mates simply my recording on a double tape deck, easy BASIC so you could make simple programs yourself, GOD BLESS Clive Sinclair for inventing it, I got one when I was about 6 or 7 yo and 34 this month its still the best Xmas present I've ever had :-D

Google it, there are Speccy emulators for the PC and all games can be downloaded free

can anyone tell me what that is? :smt047

The game looks a bit like Missile Command, but hard to tell from that picture, console looks a but like a Prinzeatronic Tournament, one of many brands that were to expensive for most homes, had a small number on games and didnt last very long.

lol sadly I never owned a tabletop space invader, they were in pubs and holiday park club houses, used to cost about 10 pence per go

My first VCR was a top loader but it died and went to electronic heaven many years ago

My old BMX I sold when I got a motorbike at 17yo

The Sodastream also died but was my parents

BUT

The Speccy, Vinal and Walkman I still have the in attic somewhere, and the 80s movies are classics, some of which I now have on DVD :-D

lets say $5k? :smt047

Awww my dreams dashed by the dirty $$$s, wish I had money to waste but sadly being an oldy means if I had $5k it would be a new kitchen, or Bathroom or upgrade car, boring stuff :(

Solus, you remember it because its worth remembering regardless of age, todays crap is disposable and easily forgotten, these things are classic with fond memories attached to them :D
