I'm curious, who here still considers this as what it used to be, a stargate based game?
I might add a poll later, I just need to think on which options to put, because it's easy to confuse with "do you still consider it to be stargatewars?" (meaning= stargatewars was cool, this current one isn't, etc...), which is NOT the subject.
It's NOT another thread about how this game lost members, how admin is inactive etc...it's just whether you still consider it to be stargate based, or not. Nobody denies fact admin changed it to MGM request, but it's not about it either. It's about how you feel about it, if you keep roleplay/act stargateish or plan to, or even just think stargate when you play it.

I think ti's still sort of SG ish but rapidly becoming System Lord wars.

While the change was MGM required, I think we've now lost a great deal in the character because of all the individualised races that get 1-2 people screaming they are great and Role playing in a half hearted way.

Never cared about it being Stargate, still dont.

If it was not stargate related, many of us would not have found our way here.

There is a lot of players who stumbled upon the game by searching for stargate related things on the internet.


To answer the opening question though: Even with the race names changed, the game is just as stargate based as it ever was.

I agree. I found SGW(GW now) by searching for "SGW" (Stargate Worlds)

that connection is in our opinion 99% of the reason MGM demanded the name change...

IMO,

I'd like to see Jason partition MGM to put it back the way it was. And just offer a franchisee fee.

Heck, i don't care even if he had to put a disclaimer saying "This is NOT Stargate Worlds, that site is HERE. This game is a MMORPG Based of the StarGate franchise"

Its ridiculous, the only thing that makes GateWars similar to Stargate Worlds is SGW... Maybe they don't want an image conflict or something... I don't know its helping anyone in this situation...

nope, the races meant nothing to me .. never seen SG

I knew someone that was playing it. I played to beat her.. she stopped playing long ago.. lol. She was a StarGate fanatic.
