I only just found this film....quite by accident on youtube. I was pleasantly surprised:- I can see why some people added it to their all-time favourite films.
If anyone wishes to watch it, there is a reasonable quality upload on this guy's youtube channel: DuTcHgAmEr5
For those who don't know it, it is Natalie Portman's breakout role, has Gary Oldman as an awesome character (pity he didn't get more screentime) and Jean Reno (who has some amazing facial expressions).
Spoilers if you haven't watched it:
I really like it, but I had a constant niggle about the fact that Portman's character was clearly so young.....Perhaps I'm simply being a prude, but would have preferred her to be a few years older.....
Other than that, I think it was an awesome movie, and loved the end sequence....I had a feeling it was building to an anti-climax.....boy was I wrong.
I have a confession....
I collect Gary Oldman films... I have nearly everything he has ever stared in or produced....
But....
My confession is, Ive never seen Leon, I dont own it, and I ALWAYS hear about how good he is in it and it kills me alittle inside :p
I shall make it my mission to buy Leon this week.

As I say, I wished he had more screentime in this film because his character was great. You'll love his opening sequence....his overture

No worries - hope you enjoy it.
Got to admit, I have become a fan of Gary Oldman (and coincidently David Thewlis) but I'm not sure if that is simply because they played my two favourite HP characters, Sirius and Lupin. I think Oldman is great in this, and really liked Thewlis in Seven Years in Tibet too.

Yes I do love him as Sirius, a great role for him, have you seen him as Dracula ?
My Favorite Gary Oldman character is Dr. Smith in Lost in Space. He is just everything a villain should be. British, Evil, Well Educated and able to worm his way out of everything.
I also love him in Fith element, a very weird film lol

I'd heard of it a few times, but never seen it in a shop to buy, and I'm not motivated enough to actively search for films.....so only just stumbled across it on youtube
Badwolf: when you watch it, make sure you get the extended version: should be about 130mins long, not the 110mins....really adds to the depth of the characters if you get the longer version
