Personally, I enjoy them. They are pretty interesting when looked at under the same vein as a special on the discover channel.

I think the term for the sites you're actually thinking about would be called snuff sites.

That's partly what I meant as well. I wouldn't speak of 'enjoyment', but I must admit that it is interesting to observe the filth some human minds come up with, from a safe distance.

I find these to be particularly annoying, actually.

I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but if you're serious then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dnepropetrovsk_maniacs

If not: lol

Well, not really enjoyment in that since. I enjoy the knowledge that is gained. I am an extremely curious sort, and that is what drives me to those sites.

One of the coolest things I have ever heard, was on Best Gore. It was an article about a cop in Iran, some thugs tried to extort him, but he told them to shove it. So they decided to chop his head off with a machete, only they failed... after hacking at his neck 33 times. The police officer, like a true badass, not only survived, but was sitting upright with a straight face and dry eyes all the while the skin on the back of his head hanging off. What did I find so cool about that story? That the man survived an attempted beheading and that he took it sitting up.

Oh, those maniacs. Yeah umm.. bad people. Typical.
That was before my time. I was playing with Muppet dolls around that time, happy 3 year old that I was.

Have to say the head -not- chopping machete was an 'epic fail'. I'd imagine those thugs sharpening that knife a bit and finishing the job.
It almost sounds like an ad for:

They're never properly sharpened, and they usually finish the job. :smt009
