Agreed. Be prepared, 3 weeks tops and it's in.
An 'extermination' strike, 10 of your miners against 1 of the enemy. Kind of like a costly form of lifer suicides.

Heh, that is interesting.
Coupled with the number of outgoing attacks, you'd lose a portion of your miners?
A 'War Plague'.. *grin*

I'm personally not really fond of this one...
Raiders will have big advantage on this one.

Its ok. Just convert them, to lifers. Or put them into attack troops

I might suggest possibly suicide your miners for theirs, only lifers for lifers though and can only be done when there is no def.
Or
A percentage of miners simply die when there is no def. Even if its just 0.1% a turn while there is no def. Simply put it will reward those with any def up and the longer they keep it

so farms getting smaller is bad how? all it will mean is that the limitless amounts of naq will no longer be out there and the game will tighten up again making it more competitive. It will place more emphasis onto your own income and defense

yea but what happens when 20K + farms dry up and have no income what so ever new account wont have any one to hit and it will put the game into pure chaos. every big empire will take on hit we mass once there is no naq to farm the person that just got massed wont be able to do much cause there is no naq in the game...
lets keep the recession in RL and not in game

well possibly put a limit on it, say accounts under 10%(arbitrary value) of plague are unaffectected by this. Not too high so snipers that constantly PPT are unaffected.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=162319&p=2036751&hilit=mice#p20367513.) In order to get people to build defenses, make it so they must have at least 1% of their army trained as defenders. If they go below 1%, then the miners start leaving the mines and become raidable UU at an exponentially increasing amount. When the cat's away, the mice will play... Sure, people can just create armies of only attack soldiers and lifers... but what good would that be if they have no UU to rebuild their strike? They'd need to raid to recover their losses, which is how the game should be played.

Bad Idea
Your homeworld is unconquerable and your miners should be untouchable since that is where they are.
