Jack and I have only been in our positions for a little over fifteen hours, so it stands to reason that we haven't had time to solve everything yet. Please bear with us as we try to tidy up this section a bit and sort out which cases have yet to be solved.
If you're referring to complaints which you've made toward the staff specifically, and not the ombudsmen, and I'd recommend taking it up with them in the 'Talk to the Mods directly' section if you haven't already.

Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. Depends on the moderator who handles your report really.
To
never receive any response is a sad coincidence, but nothing more. There are never more than 8 reports open, and very rarely more than 3. Reports
are being handled, but replies to users are not standard.
If you have ticked the box "Receive Notification", it goes to your registered
e-mail address.
I trust that satisfactorily answers your rather impatient, but understandable inquiry.

Ah, clearly I misunderstood. I just instantly assumed this was directed at me because it was posted in my section. Thanks for clearing it up, and thanks to Juliette for responding.

You know at the end of cheesy Happy Days style sitcoms where everybody's laughing together and it gradually pans out to the credits?
That's how I imagine this thread now.
'Oh, RoKeT! What are you like!'

i wouldn't close this one yet.
i also tick the "get response" box, and rarely get a response.
neither to my forum inbox nor my email one.
and:
if it's up to the mod, why does the tick box exists, in the first place?
either remove it, or respect it as the users legitimate right to be notified on his report.
remember, users (usually) report things they feel strongly about. it's a matter of both proffesionalism and just plain common courtesy to show them someone looked into it.

It is not visible to mods if the "notify when closed"-box is ticked.
If you choose the said option, you will get an automated pm notifying you that the report is closed and by whom.
If you have interest in how the report is dealt with, you are free to pm the mod who closed the report. In that case you will always get an answer(explanation).

see, here's the thing:
it doesn't happen.

I do not know what the ombudsman or the mods could do about it, as it is a technical issue apparently.
Are you sure that you have not blocked emails from the forums? Or checked your junk folder?

Report gets closed. Tick box is active = e-mail to registered e-mail address. Nothing manual about it. So 4 options if you don't get the e-mail when your reports are closed:
1. either your reports remain open (which they don't),
2. you didn't tick the box,
3. you're looking at the wrong e-mail address, or
4. you have disabled the board sending you e-mails (UCP => Board Settings).

The tick box is a technical function of the forum. It is entirely irrelevant to a moderator whether or not the box is ticked, because .. shocker .. we cannot do anything with it. We cannot stop the board from sending you an e-mail. As I've illustrated before, you have the 4 possible reasons why you wouldn't get an e-mail.
The only one of them which would be even remotely tied to disrespect towards users is the only one the admins know doesn't occur. Reports are not deleted, reports are closed. The odd instance where a report
is deleted, it has always been by a mod who deleted their own report. (For instance, I reported a few GC posts because I was online for a few minutes, then a few hours later had time to handle them. Did I disrespect myself?) We can see all reports, past and present.
Remains that you may have disabled the board from sending you e-mails, you may have not ticked the box, or you may have looked at the wrong e-mail address. Notice the key word here?

Sending you a forum PM about the report
is a courtesy,
is up to the mod, and actually receiving the e-mail that is sent to your e-mail address is a technical function outside of anyone's control but your own.
Basically, you don't know where to look; you don't get a PM. You get an
e-mail. If you don't, that is something
YOU disabled in your user control panel. Or it's in your spam box, whatever. It's a technical function. It was sent, whether you received it or not is another thing, outside of our responsibility.

There is one more thing that could cause the problem. For some reason, my hotmail account started blocking emails from the forum, and I had to manually add the email address to my white list to even get the emails delivered to my spam box.
Anyway, what Juliet said is truth. If you're not getting the emails and you did tick the box to get one, then make sure that you've allowed the board to send you emails and make sure that
admin@herebegames.com is added to your safe list.
Are there anymore questions before we close this up?

well, i do receive notification for PMs via e-mail, so it's not blocked.
and i previously got automated responses for reports via PM, as deni said.
but let's check it.
i'll report this post, you'll close it, and we'll see if i get a notification.
