Anyone seen this movie? I loved it. It's fairly old, but so so good.

Tell me if you have or have not. It's a true story as well.

In 1896 Lt. Col. John Paterson was sent to East Africa to build a railway bridge. He had a deadline to meet but was confident he and his large workforce of Africans and Indians can get the job done in time. John's was a man of his word and got things done - which he demonstrated on his first day by killing a lion that had been pestering the workforce. This earned John respect, but it didn't last very long because a few weeks later 2 new lions began visiting and they're man-eaters. The film is based on a true story and during the construction of the bridge, the lions would enter the workers camp to kill. Believing them not to be real lions, the locals name them 'The Ghost' and 'The Darkness'. After losing dozens of workers to the lions, the railroad company brought in Remington, an American 'great white hunter', to kill them, but even his reputation for being the best could not prevent yet more carnage. It is believed that over 130 people were killed by the two lions in just a few months.

That's the ploy line. If you need a link to this movie, feel free to send me a PM or ask for it. I'll direct you to a website where you can watch it for free. ;)

This was actually one of my favorite films to watch a long time ago. I haven't seen it in years, though, so I have forgotten a lot of the film. I do remember that I thought it was very well done and well-acted by Kilmer and Douglas.

Agreed! I loved it. It was amazing. I wish there were more movies like it, albeit, not true though.

The Saint and this are my two favorite Kilmer movies. I always enjoy movies about Africa and Kilmer is great. Though Douglas is a bit over the top at times.. but still passable. 4/5 stars :-D

I thought his character was meant to be over the top, though. I mean, he's Remington, the great white hunter. His ego has to be huge and over the top.

I was very sad, and so surprised when I first saw him. Then that happens? Made me die inside. :(

Great movie, spectacular scenery, top performances from Kilmer and Douglas, the atmosphere and story really get you hooked.

Mezz Movie rating 10/10 This gets my highest accolade, meaning I bought it instead of copying it :D

It was a long time ago, and I always forget the damn name. I get it mixed up.

Here's the theme song though. Enjoy. ;)
