Is it really worth it?

I think I used it once my first wave when I was annoyed by a farmer,,, and I was new to Q.

But since then, its not been worth it to give up the market turn resources...

Ideas? comments?
Is this used by a small minority or even active strong players?

It Does Last The Entire Era From The second You Polarize Players So I'd Say Yep Well Worth It

I try as hard as possible never to polarise anyone. However, sometimes you simply have to cos someone is being a major pain (major massings every day, not just getting farmed).

Can be the difference between winning a wave and coming 2567th! Really depends on the situation

See, I still dont see the benefit of not being able to be a thorn in someones side who has peeved you off.

Is it a stragety; polarize top 10 accounts that are not friendly, then it becomes a stat race because they cant hit you and you cant hit them?
If so your behind 10 weeks of market bonus resources that they can be collecting.

If you just polarize 1 or 2,,, there are enough friends/alliance mates that can mass/farm/bug you for the person/people you have polarized isn't there?

Please help me understand how this can be used in a game winning stragety.

I'm Pretty New To Q So Take What I Say With A Pinch Of Salt....It All Depends How Powerful You Are Ingame I Suppose To Concider Polarization Can Be Used As A Strategy, I Have A Few Up My Sleeve, But I Think Its More To Do With Protection Against Massin's And Sabotage From specific Players More Than Anything As Hipp Said,

example ; If Your In An Alliance And You Are At War With A Rival Alliance, You Try To Get As Many Members Of Your Alliance To Polarize The Top 3-4 Players Of The Rival's...Thus Those Top Members Cannot Touch You/Or Your Alliance Members, Allowing You To Systematicly Destroy And Deplete Their Weaker Members And Decimating Their Total Alliance Power To As Good As Nothing...They Have To Watch As Their Alliance Is Taken To Pieces And They Cannot Act Against You Which Is Not Only A Thorne In The Side But A Pain In The Arse...

If Your In One Man Army Mode It Does Benifit You In The Way That There's A Few Less Players Taking Your Resource While Farming Naq...I Have A Few Polarized Shields Against Me Which Makes Me Not A Happy Goa'uld! Unless It's Realy Personal Once Polarized Therez Not Much The Player Can Do, Sure They Can Ask Their Friends And Alliance Members To Attack But That Doesnt Last Forever...In Turn All I Can Suggest Is That You Join An Alliance Then, If They Do Try Using Others To Get At You....You Can Do The Same

It all depends on the situation. If you use your weekly bonus for turns or PPT (1 or 2 days) or bank increase then you really have no chance of doing well anyway. If you are one of those people, whether or not you use a polar shield won't really make a difference to anything.

However, to those who use their weekly bonus for UU each week, the decision of whether or not to polarize someone becomes a simple equation.

Example:

If I use my weekly bonus this week for UU I will get 641k UU. If someone masses me (properly; defense + MS + spies) I will lose around 16t naq and 1.6m UU. Therefore If I know someone will mass me all I really have to do is work out what is worth more: 641k UU or 16t naq and 1.6m UU.

Easy

polarising is only a viable option under very specific circumstances.

1. multi accounter massing you daily. (no way of fighting back against cheaters )

2. super stats snipers massing/sabbing everyday. In other words someone who spends all their naq on MS or covert and then sits on your ms or sabs you everyday. There is no way to hit them back effectively and they just become annoying.

If you polarise cos you are sick of being farmed you are a coward and deserve your farming

It is an effective tool.

However, like any other tool; you need to know how to use it.

Before AMS, using it was very effective against some with only one stat (mainly those MS's).

a tool yes... but over used mostly...

i would like to see admin add a way of removing them in future waves.. but ofcourse make it costly. like two weeks of market turns to remove and one week to apply.

also like to see admin close market earlier. like 2 weeks before end
