Anyone listen to many/any?

I have been getting into a few nice ones though most my influences have been from English bands as i am...English!

I like:
Air- French
Justice- French
Phoenix- French
Daft Punk- French (Did somebody say these 4 bands are run by the same people?!?)

Knife- Swedish

Björk- Icelandic
Sjgur Ros- Icelandic
Múm- Icelandic

Think thats about it so far.

Just want to see how English Language centered people's music taste is.

Mine is mostly centered around bands that speak english but im trying to broaden out

Well I hardly listen to anything that isn't in the English language, but hey, anime provides a good source sometimes.... like the 2nd opening theme for DeathNote I think it was..... (it has been a while since I've seen it and I don't plan on re watching it) then there was the Ghost in the Shell sound track, which at parts does use English, but it also draws on various other languages too.

just for a giggle, sometimes the music from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei can be good too. lol.

though...... more on track with my regular tastes.... I do listen to a band called 'Textures', who are from the Netherlands, though they do still sing in English....

Very true, english countries aint so good at classical. Yeah i guess they count.

And sol and DmX, yeah i likes some japanese music but i really never think its as good as other stuff. I just like it because....its japanese. My favorite anime openining songs are the second one from Soul Eater and the Bounen No Xamdou one.

DmX, they all rock bands you listed?

Yup, they're just foreign bands, In Flames and Opeth both sing in English for the most part.

Give Opeth a listen they can be the most chilled band at times and the most hectic at others

sabaton are awsome...going to see them in october :D

Non-english (or mixed) lyrics:

Tyr (mixed) - from Faroe islands
Dalriada - hungarian
D'espairsRay - japanese

Non-english artists (english lyrics):

Firewind - greek
Rhapsody/ Rhapsody of Fire - italian
Sabaton - swedish
Hammerfall - swedish
Luca Turilli/ Luca Turilli's Dreamquest - italian
Ensiferum - Finnish
Stratovarius - Finish
Megahog - Brazilian (they do metal versions of video game themes - notably sonic the hedgehog)
Gamma Ray - German
3 Inches of Blood - canadian

the majority of the final fantasy ost are by Nabou Uematsu

it does seem that a large number of heavy/power metal bands are scandinavian lol

That's because all there is to do in Scandanavian countries is to grow your hair and play metal really really fast or freeze to death
