Hello Everyone,
I'm coming before the Community at this time to ask something of all the big major alliances and empires. My foster son Mosiah has been playing this game for around two years now. He is 15 and has Autism.
Autism is one of a group of serious developmental problems called autism spectrum disorders (ASD) that appear in early childhood — usually before age 3. Though symptoms and severity vary, all autism disorders affect a child's ability to communicate and interact with others.
The people that know him in game will tell you he is a very sweet kid and I can count on one hand how many times I have seen him attack another player in this game. He loves numbers and what he finds the most fun in this game is to log in as many times as he can a day to bank, train, and add up his numbers. He keeps paper and pen ready to add his total power every time he trains anything. He has taken part in 3 wars that Expansion was in with BTU, DOO & DDE around a year or so ago.

He got massed in the BTU war and cried for two days. I told the leader of BTU about him and some of their members sent him units and naq to cover his losses, that made him very happy. DOO & DDE were great about it as well, they made him feel like he was a major player in the wars with out massing him, telling him he did a great job and all. Again a small thing made him happy.
Understand his part in the wars was hitting someone one time (one 15 turn attack) and going crazy because he thought he just massed someone. If Rek and Destruction1 remember this they will tell you what I'm saying is true.

Anyway to get to the point I would like to ask all alliance leaders to send out a message and post on their forums that Mosiah is not to be attacked. Roket you know Mosiah and have tried to talk to him, I think you got him to say hi to you and that was about it. It has taken Insaneone over a year to get him to respond to her messages she sends him and I had to really push to get him to reply to her the very first time. I hope most of the community can and will help out with this request to help this young man continue to enjoy the game the only way he knows how. Yes it is a war game but that is not how he plays it.

PS. He is getting ready to ascend so he has all his stuff untrained and out in the open while on PPT. I will help him ascend by Friday. He always says he hates ascending cause his numbers get small.

I know its a long shot trying to get anyone to help here but it is worth a try if it means he can play the game with out getting massed and farmed. Thats why I'm asking the major empires and alliances for help and understanding with this. Even if they don't reply and just post a do not touch on the alliance forums that would be great. I guess I expect to much some times but I like to think there are some good people out there with a heart

Honestly, I don't think anybody should realistically come onto a game like this one and expect to receive special treatment; regardless of their RL circumstances. We all have problems of varying degrees. I have a lot of sympathy with what you're trying to do, but I wouldn't be too hard on anybody who doesn't comply with your request. Also bear in mind that a lot of people don't use the forums, and that some people, perhaps due to past experience, are often suspicious of requests of this nature.

I declared peace because I have some experience dealing with autistic people, who are often much maligned and misunderstood, and also because I'm just generally in a bit of a good mood at the moment. It's either the gin or the weather. Good luck with this thread, and good luck to you and your son in the game.

this kid is truly great!! smart in what he do ....dont be the one to tear down what he likes.

My uncle have 6 daughters and 4 of them have ASD so i understand what tadepole means.

I'm a nice guy so I have set peace personally. I will leave it up to other TA members to decide if they wish to do the same.

Can I point out something though? This is a role-playing game, and there are people on here who play villianous characters. Such characters could see a thread like this as an opporunity to expand their villanous ways. Thus far he has been left alone by staying under the radar. I hope that for once common sense prevails in this case and that some idiot doesn't go massing him just because of this thread, but i've been around long enough to know that drawing attention to yourself in any way often leads to a massing.

Hopefully he gets enough people offering to protect him that this doesn't happen. Having insaneone as a CO is a start.

Well tomorrow when he checks his account I will write down all the names of the people who set him to peace. This way after he ascends I will help him reset peace with them all. And I do understand what you all are saying. And I do understand that there maybe some who will just try to mass him. If you look at him you will see he never has a big account, he does not farm its all about the numbers and watching them change. I will try to get him to reply to any messages sent to him but if he does not know you I'll be hard pressed to get him to reply.

I do understand this as well and thats why I have talked to admin Sue in the past about Mosiah and agreed to supply all the documentation needed to prove who he is, his condition, his care, and how this game does help him to come out of his shell a little at a time. hell he talks to his psychiatrist all the time about his numbers.

Having everyone not Farm may be a bit much, however I have set peace. Anyone in EPA who farms would likely check the forum and be able to make their own decision. I say good luck with convincing the masses.

it is nice to see such a thread without anyone making those pointless posts about declaring war/massing just because of the request...

As long as he tries to stay below-radar, he should be mostly safe...

when we were still active ingame, we were only massed for our style of writing, or as part of a war...

Staying away from farming active players is a safe way to avoid most massings...
