NAPs

Why do alliance have them? For any aggressive alliance, I see no reason why you'd have them. All they do is restrict your farming. I can understand no turn farming. That can get annoying to see in your logs, but if on the very rare occasion I have 100b naq out... I'd much prefer a friend/ally take that naq than some random dope... especially if it's a PPT I missed. I can't fathom why someone would set a PPT and miss it, let alone not bank once or twice while on PPT... but if you're gonna lose that naq, why would you cry if a friend hit you rather than someone you're at war with? At the very least, 100b naq hits should be permitted in NAPs. If you're still getting hit too often, then use your brains and set crit/nox until you can login and bank more frequently.
Same goes for farming your alliance members. Why not? The naq farmed by members of your alliance/empire is used to help protect you. Naq farmed by enemies is used against you.
This whole concept baffles me... and is the main reason why I turn down offers to join alliances/empires. I average about 30T naq/day farmed. Why would I want to limit my ability to maintain farming that much when some dope was stupid enough to set a PPT that they can't be there for when it ends... and I can't hit them because of a stupid NAP or No Hit Policy?

We have our agreement and how frequently do you see me in your alliance logs? Not very often other than the occasional missed PPT.

Its called RL. I'm not about to start planning my day around when my ppt ends on an online game. If I'm near a computer, great. If not, its only naq
As for the rest, I generally agree. Part of the problem arises when you get more aggressive farming.....hitting a missed ppt is one thing, but if you're being hit every 2-3 turns, tempers start to fray. Especially if you've got a decent def and taking some heavy losses. Perceived friendships can be fragile in this game so a lot of people don't bother taking the risk with it. Keep it nice and simple and everyone knows where they stand.

I understand the RL thing. To me, it makes sense to miss a couple turns now and get hit for a couple of turns of income then set a PPT for when you have no doubt you'll be home. For example, let's say my regular work schedule is 9am-5pm. Instead of setting a PPT at 6pm and taking a chance that you might have to work overtime and miss that PPT, why not set your PPT right before you go to bed? I'd much rather miss a few hours of turn income than 48 hours of income.

yep cant help a traffic jam on the highway or other conditions in real life. Stuff happens. I know personally I have missed 3 ppt misses since playing the game but oh well.

NAPs serve one purpose, to avoid conflicts. Often alliances which are friendly relations have them because you dont want to end up at war with your friends over farming issues.

Well Farming yourself is just plain smart! Alliances/Empires should farm themselves.
As for NAPs, I see both sides of the argument. Certain alliances have big enough empires that they don't need allies. Sometimes it's just nice to have friends.
But on the flip side, I'd rather have my friends farming me, when I sleep/work ect, than would be enemies.
NAPs for post war as great. I believe it's essential. Without NAPs after wars, farming ect would occur, and you'd be right back at it.

max offtopic but what film is your spolier from with Jessica alba
and sumtimes people miss PPT if internet breaks down or in my case i lost my internet massing people before
NAPS means nothing these days as with new members and newbie players dont grasp often who not to hit and some NAPS are just to much to follow IE
If u make NAPS 90 percent game ur bound to break them
on this matter fignuts dare i say it policy is best in game in regards to NAPS = have none

I think The Legion has this problem solved well ...
NAP: No attacking policy .... it is not no farming policy ... that meen no massing or unnesecery hits ( 50 b NAQ + )
I like this because allias helps you out keeping NAQ in friend zone ...
