some planets have two stats on them instead of one. such as a planet with income and attack. or covert and def.
they're pretty useful, but also very expensive.

no there are two forms of planets in game
normal with one bonus being say defence attack or covert
Duel planets are two types of bonus on one planet which means you can have 20 bonus's instead of 10 with normal planets in theory you have to be able to hold duels and that is not easy if you have 10 of them

Cant beleive im helping sum1 learn without massing them

Pay cash, create one on MT market with 3 turns (If your lucky) find one (if your lucky) steal one from another player lol

If you get one, be sure to merlin it permanently. Even the crappiest duals are highly sought after. Oh and dont boast about having one unless you're prepared to fight over it

You'd have to be incredibly lucky to actually make a dual planet.
If you have your heart set on one, you are probably better off sending your MS out and hoping to get lucky since as there are always wars on, there's usually someone who's lost a dual. Sometimes the thief can keep it, othertimes they may abandon it. Though the dual is most likely to be beaconed too and thus the original owner will come looking for it in time.
The other way to get one is to get involved in one of the wars and steal one. Or pay someone to steal one for you, hope they can keep it and then get it off them...
Most reliable way of getting one (without using cash) is to buy one from the planet market (on the forum) BUT I would definitely suggest doing your homework first to ensure that you aren't buying one that's just giong to be taken away from you.

Shane, I just looked you up on the Main Server,
and I set peace.

Here are the issues with Dual Planets:
ANY dual planet is probably worth more than your whole account
and my my whole account put together...
and I'm about 20 times bigger, with an extra two ascensions above you...
(no worries, I have confidence you'll excel at this game...

)
Second, anyone who found out that I had even a crummy dual planet
that was not on PPT or Merlined for even a day,
(say by accident, or miscalculation, etc.),
They would gladly steal that dual planet right then...
no matter how many defenses I put on the dual planet,
or how many mobile platforms I assigned to it, the works...
And anyone who stole such a dual planet would gladly mass my account back to the stone age to keep it.
To be perfectly blunt, your commander's commander would have a difficult time holding onto a dual planet...
and they are even bigger and stronger than I am...
If you are set on having one,
you'll need to be exceptionally good at keeping it protected with PPT and Merlin's...
A dual planet would probably survive longer out in the open
if the owner were in pergatory, but I can't say for sure...
even then, it would need total protection as much as possible...
and as I recall, PPT is not available in pergatory.

and if you recall, there is only a 60 AT limit in perg, meaning with platforms a dual could be farly safe there without merlins (well any single multi platformed planet for that matter)

Says the guy in maelstrom

It wouldn't be surprising to see some of you guys with fleets capable of going through big planet defenses

Hence why I said fairly. You should never take anything for granted as nothing is ever 100%. even if we dont have the fleets, all it could take is an angry norm account with the fleet capacity to click a beacon and to come to perg to reclaim their planet.
What I really meant was it it easy to build 3 100k def platforms and assign them to just one plenet. There isn't many guys wihth that sort of fleet power floating around, esp in perg

good point.
