Adding characters, to names and race names? or red titles?

That name has illegal characters. Please use only a-z, 1-9, [, ], _, . and space.

How Annoying As Alot Of Goa'uld Names Use Them

It is part of Jason's solution to patching security.
To him, allowing 'special characters' means opening the door for exploits and hacks. Don't approach him with these ideas, regardless of how well you've thought them through, how you balance security with practical application.
It's his world, and he thinks it's safer this way. It's throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but that's 'not his problem'.

You should understand that coding uses a lot of ', ;, ,, (etc.) so it is just security measures. Yes, perhaps it goes a bit far... but if you've seen some cases past years where people abused things like that to create naq/UU etc out of nowhere, you'd understand - hence why Jason coded it so also certain words in PMs are automatically changed - to prevent any coding/hacking tricks.

I guess that either Jason doesn't care enough about Quantum or doesn't mind.. since it is an 3-month reset, you couldn't make THAT much out of it - and even if you do, it likely either gets noticed very quickly or the advantage you've got becomes null and void within weeks... as opposed to Main and Chaos, which respectively don't reset or once a year - meaning that the long-term advantage (since the game speed is lower) is bigger for those 2 servers

Also Goa'uld is a default value. It's not typed. If it was possible to submit a name you'd like to have, then it can be checked any used. But since he can't make that guarantee without doing for every single person, it needs to be blocked
