depending on personal interest, and on general quality, we would consider most movies worth watching... not seen this one, but we will eventually see it...

It's a good watch, worth a watch.

It feels like Gladiator..but worse. Lots of erm..less fighting. At one point, I coulda sworn he sounded Irish..then reverted back to English. :P

That's the problem with people trying to adapt accents that aren't natural to them. Why they got an Aussie to try to sound English is beyond me. Of course, Mel Gibson's accent wasn't great either.

The best English Robin Hood.

Cant be as cheesy as Costner, and even though I here people dissing Crowes attempt at the accent at least he is trying, and thats more than Costner ever did.

My prediction is it will be a good high budget action film, with very little relation to the original story and no respect for history. I will watch it, and given Crowes past film I will probably enjoy it, but hope no one takes it to seriously.

I'd rather actors not attempt it than butcher a film with false accents - and before anyone cries they want it to feel authentic, then the Anglo-Norman elite spoke French, wrote in Latin, and the peasantry spoke an English that wouldn't be recognisable to modern audiences.....

Nothing wrong with the Costner version (well, there was a lot wrong with it), but equally it was a good family film - easy watching on a Sunday afternoon with the family.

Not seen the new one yet, probably won't until it goes to dvd.....am too lazy to go to the cinema.....but I was surprised to see Crowe doing this kind of film again after State of Play and Body of Lies where he plays quite old and very overweight Americans - its almost like he's rolled by the clock to 2000 and Maximus......

i went to see it with LOW expectations as theres been so many robin hoods

historically King Richards fate is accurate

drawbacks is this is only setting up for a sequel as Sheriff Nottingham N evil new king really are just shown how they become his enemies but play back role (Sheriff more rarely in it) as main baddie I forget his name atm so early overtakes the story

in saying that its rather funny at times the story is good, the love story isnt really soppy to the end and is done proper (minimal focus on it throughout movie) its probably best as a stand alone how he became a robber of the rich as this got a A+ for me in terms of so many versions of RH it did raise the bar a bit

Gladiator was a great film on entertainment value, but it was not a war film, and it bared little relation to History
