Any tips for advancing?

OK, I've been stuck in limbo at an average position of around 350 for a month now.
I understand that as these ranks, you are at the level where people are checking up at the game, and actually care about advancing.

I am of the Tauri, so I understand that my attack rank helps considerably in my overall rank, and my defense rank hinders me greatly.
I try to increase my Spy training as much as possible, but, the next level is something I will not be able to reach for a long time, as it requires around 3mil naquida, and my bank capacity is only at 1.5mil.

So, I'd like to know if anyone has any specific tips for advancing a little quicker, as much as playing is, playing and not advancing is getting less fun by the day.

I'm not sure what it's at but I would say upgrade unit production to build your bank faster.

Build your strike so you can hit people with more money, then use that to build some defense and unit production. Something like that but what do I know my rank is slipping.

if you want to upgrade your spy level my best advice would be sell all your weapons if it covers the cost if not then dont obviously other than that get your unit production up

Take the above advice.
Just wanted to add that your unit production should be at 100 units per day at the very least!

you do know this topic was 2months old, but never mind i guess it might be useful in here, although nowday 100units per day is dog food, people should have a minumum of about 300 idd say 600-1000 if you want to get up their with the big boys :-)

yeah an update after the move woulda been helpful there Forgive_me!!

so here goes...

Rank is a funny old thing, and DOES vary with race, however it fundamentally stays the same principal, balance. As i have developed a way of predicting where i will rank after raising one or more of my stats, so can you once you develop a sense of how it all works, it's kinda like a car with an accelerator (the stat you receive your bonus in) a brake (the stat you receive a defecit in) and a throttle (something of the "ol' 3rd magic" ..flair, jazz, experiment). If you boost your "bonus" stat (Defence for Asgard) it will greatly increase that stat, but cause an unbalance in your overall, which is where the throttle control comes in.. do you drive? i generally use my weaker stat to control the speed at which i rise and fall through rankings, as it creates far less a difference to overall when you change it, plus the nearer to the "bonus" stat the "defecit" stat gets, the easier it is to finally achieve you optimum ranking. This technique can also be applied in reverse, creating an "anchor" for yourself so you do not fall too far when selling things to upgrade other things, Covert stats make good anchors because you keep your invisiblity while deciding on where to anchor yourself by removing your rank in very very tiny increments.. one spy at a time if you so wish. -sigh- one of these days i will have no secrets left.

Try it out anyhow, it doesn't seem to work for everyone, but then jazz isn't for everyone ;)

I'll add my 2 cents to that.

Don't increase your covert action at all costs. I see people that want to be up there in the covert rankings, but can't pay for the next spylevel. Consequently they end up buying a ton of spies, tremendously lowering their income and bank size, making that next spylevel even harder to reach. Patience is an important factor in this game.

How the hell am i meant to get to my next spy level, its gonna cost 24000000 and i can only store 9000000. I do have a half decent unit production(over 200) and a half decent defense(Over 20000000) but as soon as i get over 4 million naq i get attacked by people ranked under 200.

It takes time.
Just work on UP. Get it to 400 if you can, or higher

Another way is to sell weapons in order to make the needed 24mil. So fill your bank up to 9mil, then when your ready, quickly withdraw it all, sell 120 big weapons or however many you need to (it should be around 120) and then youll have 24 mil to spend on the spy level.

Its really not that hard...

just make sure you pull this maneouvre really really fast... cause you get a real sinking feeling if someone hits you when you have 24 mil naq out in the open :?

Tell your commander to give you enough to buy it. I often give my officers enough to get their next levels. Gave 16 million to one last night.
